Hello, Secret Service?
I think they forget that those guys are gonna be with W for the rest of his life.
I had heard something to the effect that Clinton signed a law that left any successor to him with 10 years' worth of USSS protection. Is that the case?
http://www.ustreas.gov/usss/protection.shtmlToday, the Secret Service is authorized by law to protect: Former presidents and their spouses for their lifetimes, except when the spouse remarries. In 1997, Congressional legislation became effective limiting Secret Service protection to former presidents for a period of not more than 10 years from the date the former president leaves office..
