Thursday!
« on: October 23, 2008, 08:46:18 AM »
Well, it's a tad chilly today.  When I woke up it was 43 outside.  brrr.

I made it to school to discover that my 8am class was canceled. So here I am in the school computer lab waiting until my 10am class. I wish I had known my class was going to be canceled, I could have slept in this morning.

We're at 45 so far and partly cloudy.  The highest forecast temp in the next 10 days is 60. :(

I think it's getting up to 70 today and low to mid 70s through the weekend.  I'd rather it be like this than 100+.

Mid 50's and very blustery today.

I am packing out for the convention this weekend!

I get a hotel room all to myself from tonight till Sunday and a lot of quiet from the thundering herd here. :-)

Woot.

Back from a job interview.  Ho hum.  The job was not as described.  I think I'll stay where I'm at for now.

Early voting, gotta go sign some paperwork at my parents, and will muck around with the bike for a little bit.  This thing is progressing a lot slower than I'd like, but I only have one or two days a week that I can spend on it.  I'd like to get at least one ride in before the roads ice over.

Done with class for the day.  I get to deal with Housing again, as my room-mate's overbearing mother is trying to dictate how *I* should conduct myself in this apartment.  I will make it very clear to them that, given how Housing treated my mother when she and I were dealing with my previous room-mate's BS, I will not cooperate this time around if they are going to treat my room-mate and her mother differently than they treated me and my mom.  In other words, I'm calling them on their hypocrisy. :hammer:

Thermometer says 63 degrees, but with the wind, it feels a lot colder than that.

It was so chilly here this morning, I love it!  I'm sitting here eating an english muffin with Raspberry Jam and it is delicious.  My daughter called me from school just before I was getting ready to jump in the shower, she had forgotten a project at home that was due today so I rushed my shower and getting ready to take it to her at school.  I have noticed when I hurry to get ready I end up looking better than when I put more effort into it.  You would think I would learn and always just rush to get ready but I don't.

For those of you who didn't read my "wahhh" thread, my UVeitis is back.   :bawl:  I had to dilate my eye again but this time instead of twice a day I only have to do it once a day.  Apparently I am super sensitive to the dilating drops because it took almost two weeks for my eye to go back to normal after the last round.  I have my appointment with the specialist this afternoon, I hope he doesn't want to give me a shot in my eye.   :(

I kind of lost it yesterday when my husband called me from work.  I am a little depressed about my UVeitis coming back and it has me secretly worried that there is some other underlying problem that is causing it.  My Rheumatologist told my Mom yesterday that he thinks it is related to this genetic marker I have that is called HLA B27.   Also my Mom sent me a few pictures of my brothers grave that my Uncle had sent her.  She hasn't picked his headstone yet so there is just a temporary sign and it depressed me big time.  Also, the grass was greener over his grave than the rest of the grass and it really hit me and made me so sad.   It also could have been because it was three months to the day since he died (he died July 22nd).  I almost never cry so something was going on.

I cut my finger this morning on a Coke can.  I had three of them to toss in the recycling bin in the garage and I stuck my fingers in the opening to carry them and I ended up cutting one of my fingers.  I always think about cutting my finger when I pick up a can that way but I do it anyway.  Today is much better though.  I'm going to do laundry until I go to the doctor at 1:00.

Was only 29 here this morning when the bus came. Got almost that cold in here (at least it felt like it!) when the youngest left the back door open and I didn't realize it for almost 45 minutes!  All my kitties escaped, too, but they are all recovered again.

Went to a friends house this morning to pick up a tutu for my daughter's Halloween costume.  Said friend made it for her.  She's going as a dead/zombie ballerina.

Balanced the check book and paid bills.

Getting ready to forage for some lunch.

I just got all my event stuff packed and am stuffing clothes and such in my duffel.

I am Soooooo looking forward to the weekend here!!!!!111111

I joked with my partner that when we were in our 20's a weekend away meant bars and strip clubs.
Now that we are in our 40's a weekend away is sitting in a quiet place drinking coffee and talking without our kids crawling all over us and people making us stop to look at the giant ball of twine. :-)

And happiness is a hotel room with a fridge and a microwave.

Two events, one Friday night and one Saturday.

I voted today.  I was in and out in fifteen minutes.  I did NOT vote for Lamar Alexander because of his vote on the trillion-plus bailout deal.  First time I've ever left a blank spot on a ballot.  Sara Palin, Beth Harwell, and Marsha Blackburn are in good standing, tho.   :cheersmate:

I found a new bookstore, but it smells funny.  I don't know if I'll be back.

My arch nemesis called today.

She works at a collision center in their corporate accounting office.  Well she's like "you did this all wrong" blah blah blah.  I told her I didn't and it's completely correct on my end.  This is the 3rd person that's called to talk to me about this (including someone else in the corporate office), and she's the only one that doesn't get it.  She said that I need to think about how their system works.  I believe I said "well, it's all cleared up on my end, and I don't really care about how your end works."

I pissed her off pretty good.   :-)  She went to "talk to her boss," but hasn't called back yet, maybe she finally figured it out.   :whatever:

The lady in the cube next to me was laughing.

So...you got those TPS reports out yet?

I just don't like her, and I'm not the only one.  The lady that did this job before me used to fight with her all the time.  Plus, I really don't care how their accounting system works either, she just didn't like it when I said that.  LOL!

I'm in the process of microwaving turkey, rice and veggies for dinner here in my palatial single king smoking room at the glamorous Loves Park Holiday Inn Express.

What's up for dinner with you guys?

Staying at the beach on Tybee Island outside of Savannah.....temp on the car thermometer registered 67....but since it seemed like the wind was blowing about 30-50 mph ... I think the chill temp was around 50 :o :o :o

We poked around, went and ate lunch at a place on the beach....great chocolate fudge cake....shopped a bit, went into Savannah, shopped a bit more, drove around downtown to figure out where we need to be tomorrow...Robyn interviews at Savannah College of Art and Design at 2pm....then went to Uncle Bubba's for dinner. (Paula Deen's brother).

We have to be out early in the morning, doing some laundry tonight. It's raining.... :censored:

It's supposed to take us about 5 hours or so to get up to Brevard NC, so we will probably leave not long after Robyn's finished at SCAD. Her interview and voice audition is at 1:30 on Saturday at Brevard. We are heading home then on Sunday.

Had some incredible food on this trip.....
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

"My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far I've finished two bags of M&M's and a chocolate cake. I feel better already." – Dave Barry

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

Dang, wish I'd known you were going to be in town ahead of time.  I'm living in SW Savannah.  Hope y'all enjoy downtown as much as I have.   :)

Good luck to Robyn on getting into SCAD (PS: they have an extremely vocal CR group ;) )
