Humpity Hump Day
« on: October 22, 2008, 07:38:41 AM »
Wife is working WAY late tonight.

Early release for the kiddlings today and light chauffeur service for me.

Still working like a mad procrastinating bastid to get ready for this weekend.

Gotta haul in a ton of water softener salt today at some point.

Meh.

It's cool, grey, and raining in the Sandhills of Nebraska this morning, temperatures in the high 30s.  Ideal weather for me, but not so for the general run of humanity.

The cats are starting to flow inside for the winter.

I have to get the front right-side brake and some sort of brake hose on the motor vehicle replaced, either today or tomorrow.  I had no idea anything was wrong there.

Well, I decided to drop the class from hell! UGH. so I won't be graduating this semester cause I'll be that class short. Even the other half said the work load was graduate level and given the state of the home with me so busy on it, I had to decide what needed to give and that class was it. Winter is a far more quiet time here given the holidays are over and I plan to actually take it in class this time since I think given what it entails, that makes it actually far less demanding in a classroom setting.

So, now that that is done, my day is wide open. The other class is a typical required grammar class and light on workload so I have nothing due for a week there and that's nothing but the usual memory stuff for grammar rules that I'm basically reviewing. It's weird to have all this time on my hands. I've already done a bunch of stuff I had neglected for a couple days and am about to get on the gym clothes and spend an hour there and then come back and pick this disaster that's happened while ia was overloaded, up!
I may even get the painting I had started a few weeks back done later this week! I'm definitely finallly getting the decorations up and the party planned for the kids now for Halloween! Hell, I may finally get caught up on Dexter too once all the grunt work is done around here! WOOT!

So, it's a good day for me peeps. I feel like a weight is lifted off my shoulders even though it delays graduating for me, my kids were too important to get lost in the demands of that class. I'm good with the decision now.

Cool still this morning, but supposed to warm up to almost 60 today.  Only activity tonight is dance, woohoo!

I'm planning on baking today...not sure what I'll make yet, I just have a desire to bake.  Also helps warm the house up a bit!

Need to clean carpets, too, but I don't think that will happen today!

Jty, glad you are taking the time to take care of yourself!  No need to kill yourself to take that class...a one semester delay won't hurt anything, and I'm sure you and your whole family will be happier because of it.

Cold and raining like hell here.  Below freezing tonight.  Hopefully no sleet or ice storms.

A cold front is heading through today, so down to the mid-60s.  I brought a light sweater to wear to school later.   :-)

I have to finish up my goals assignment this morning.  This afternoon after my class, I have to head to the library to watch some NADA workshop video for a project.  The workshops are an hour long and we can't check them out to watch at home.  Oh well.  The project is due on Tuesday.

My boss is supposedly coming in "late" today so hopefully I'll miss her since I get off work at 1pm.

w00t!  I got a 98 on my last algebra exam.

A wonderfully sunny, yet cool day today.

I should have updated yesterday, but we did get our booth after all thanks to our advisor.  Only drawback was that, despite requesting a booth with electricity, we got one without. :(   Today was a blast... lots of new sign-ups, a few trouble makers (could someone please explain to me what a libertarian socialist is?  Because that's what one guy was calling himself...  :mental: He and his girlfriend showed up at our booth when they couldn't find the College Democrat booth... started debating with us about how healthcare is something that government should provide).   Plenty of free food from the other booths, though my co-chair did leave and come back with 2 pizzas from Little Caesar's... YUM!   I couldn't stay for the whole day, as I had class. But while I was gone,  my co-chair encountered a new recruit who said it didn't feel right to just take the free goodies we had available (frisbees, cups, key chain beer bottle openers ( :-) ).)  So my co-chair made him work for it.  Made him do push-ups, hand-stands, etc.   :rotf:
