It's hard to imagine The Chosen One being less than honest but hey:

...Sen. Obama should consider his own complicity in the failure of Congress to adopt legislation that might have prevented the subprime meltdown.

In the summer of 2005, a bill emerged from the Senate Banking Committee that considerably tightened regulations on Fannie and Freddie, including controls over their capital and their ability to hold portfolios of mortgages or mortgage-backed securities. All the Republicans voted for the bill in committee; all the Democrats voted against it. To get the bill to a vote in the Senate, a few Democratic votes were necessary to limit debate. This was a time for the leadership Sen. Obama says he can offer, but neither he nor any other Democrat stepped forward.

Instead, by his own account, Mr. Obama wrote a letter to the Treasury Secretary, allegedly putting himself on record that subprime loans were dangerous and had to be dealt with. This is revealing; if true, it indicates Sen. Obama knew there was a problem with subprime lending — but was unwilling to confront his own party by pressing for legislation to control it. As a demonstration of character and leadership capacity, it bears a strong resemblance to something else in Sen. Obama’s past: voting present.

SOMEBODY please tell me why the MSM is burying this stuff?  WHY????????  I understand why the Obama schmucks I pass on the street everyday want him to win.  They want suck the government teat from cradle to grave.  But WHAT is the motivation of NBC, CNN and the rest to get this bunch of socialists into office?

For crying out loud, every good communist and socialist country only has ONE National media.  Quite a few of them will be sad when they ain't it.

It is an interesting phenomenon.

I think it is because they share his political views and "first black president" makes for good copy.

But assuming they share his views you still have to wonder why they support this schmuck.

With the Chicago Annenberg Challenge he and Bill Ayers gave out over $100 million with only themselves to answer to. And give they did...to every hare-brained leftist cause. The CAC's own findings say none of the programs had an appreciable boost in academics. If it had been a success the media would be saying, "See! It does work! We have to excuse the fact he worked beside a terrorist at least he was able to prove liberal education works!"

They don't even have that to run on.

Nor can they strut around triumphantly about his work with ACORN. Who the hell wants to brag about suing banks over red-lining in the middle of the sub-prime meltdown.

The fact is: Obama DOES have an EXTENSIVE record...but by his own admission it's nothing to brag about.

Young dynamic black dude for President = Newsworthy.
Old white-guy career politician for President = Same old Same old.
Palin's fall from grace = Newsworthy.

Sadly, mainstream news reporting is all about the sensation now.
