Northland Couple Warns of Political Credit Card Fraud

NORTH KANSAS CITY, MO.  --  A North Kansas City couple has been left scratching their heads after they became the victims of a political scam.

Steve and Rachel Larman say a strange credit card charge appeared on their statement this month -- a $2300 donation to Barack Obama's presidential campaign. The Larman's say they don't want this to be about their political affiliation, but they say they're not about to give the Obama campaign any help from their pocketbook.

They said they notified Chase, their credit card bank, to report the fraud.

"(They)  said that they had seen-they were familiar with this," said Steve Larman. "It was fraud, they believe through telemarketing but they were going to be doing some more investigations."

The Larman's don't want their politics to enter into what is essentially just a fraudulent charge. But they say that the charge involves the Obama campaign adds insult to injury for the registered Republicans.

"They (Chase) kept on asking me 'are you sure you wouldnt have gone to a site in support of Obama'," said Rachel Larman. "And I repeatedly said 'Im voting for McCain - I would not be going to an Obama site'."

I swear the more this type of thing comes up, the more it becomes apparent how criminal and unsuitable liberals are to hold ANY position of power. The organizations that work for them are beginning to look like little more then slightly organized street thugs.

By the time that epiphany hits the American people, it will be too late.  ReichsMessiah Obama will be firmly ensconced in the White House Barack-opolis, and his brown-shirted, jack-booted ACORN minions will be enforcing party discipline under the direction of Minister of Troof William Ayers.

Heil Obama.  :banghead:

Yeah, I fear that's the case as well.  :banghead:

my credit card bills are auto-deducted from checking.  I would notice $2300, but I probably wouldn't notice a stray 20 or 50 dollar charge . . .

So now they're committing credit card fraud as well. Anything goes.  :banghead:

That sounds like a bank's response, as if it's a normal thing to contribute the max allowed (legally, n/a here) to a political campaign by going to a website then forgetting you did it.

These people believe 100% that President Bush stole the last 2 presidential elections via Diebold, so in their mind cheating to win this time is justifiable even though their belief about the stolen elections is complete bullshit.

hi5..precisely what I was thinking, Jinx. They have been so convinced that this president is illegitimate that they'll take any means to throw him(and his party) out of power. All these idiots will end up achieving in the end is probably more restrictions on all of us and in turn 'disenfranchising' the very voters they supposedly said were getting kept out all along :thatsright: cause I don't know about you, but the more I hear about this, the more I think there needs to be a return to voting that has requirements attached to it again.

Saw someone on another board mention just this very thing.  Those who are the gov't teat have .... MORE to gain from choosing someone who is promising to pad their pockets with even more gov't money.  They are more interested in taking from the 'haves' and redistributing that wealth.  They have a bigger dog in the fight and it isn't fair to those of us who foot the bill.

They are gaining in numbers and it won't be long before those on the teat outnumber us.  When that happens they will vote more out of the public coffers than we can put in and it is Game Over.

This person suggested not allowing those on total gov't assistance to vote.  Makes sense to me.  I'm sure there would have to be lots of rules put into play but we are in essence allowing those on gov't assistance an opportunity to vote themselves raises.

I'd agree with that suggestion. Someone living off the kindness of taxpayers should not have the ability to tax those they are living off of. It almost wreaks of a kind of servitude to allow such a thing. I've always thought though that  when someone makes a career off of depending on the government, then they get to be treated as children who are being cared for by parents and children, even adult ones, don't get to vote on the rules or how much money their parents spend on housing, electricity, food, etc and they have restrictions that come with lving with mom and pops--taxpayers money, taxpayer rules.

  • Make America Great Again. Deport some DUmmies.
All the Obama campaign has did was strengthen so-called class and racial divides - regardless of who wins, there will be riots, theft, and random acts of violence.

We got hit with some bogus charges from a place called "Encore marketing" -- it happens when you order things from Newport News. They charge $14.95 a month for their "club" dues. Just small enough to be overlooked.  My Internet research turned up a log of info (Google "Encore Marketing scam").  I was fortunate to catch it after a few months (well, Mrs. FD found it) and the credit card company reversed all the charges.  We called Encore and they did stop the charges -- after 3 months (those were reversed as well)!

Super-duper scam.  Charging $15 a month for doing absolutely nothing -- who knows how many thousands of people they have nailed.

For God's sake, do NOT shop from Newport News.  And keep an eye on your cc statements.

Did anyone notice that this line was repeated twice in the story?
