PORTLAND, Ore. - Authorities have arrested two men after a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a 4-foot by 8-foot campaign sign for Republican presidential candidate John McCain in a southeast Portland yard.

Karen Scrutton said she was asleep inside her home at 7956 S.E. 17th Ave. in the Sellwood neighborhood when she saw her sign go up in flames after 1 a.m.

"I screamed upstairs to my husband, 'Jean! Jean!" she said.

A neighbor heard a crash and chased off one of the suspects. Jean Scrutton said his son-in-law found another suspect not far away.

Sorry I missed this. What they did was horrible. I hope they get prosecuted and not off the hook.

Do you know how much junk is being done right now on both sides? I don't ever hear a condemnation unless it's brought up to them in public or if it becomes really big news. I'm sorry to say I've only seen that story on the internet just now after nearly a month of it happening.

I don't see anything wrong with Obama's name. It's a name. We all have them.

OTOH, I've been reading about the mirror image B carved on a woman's face to try to frame the evil black man. McCain didn't speak out against that.

I sure wish there was a politician of purity. Of course there's no such thing.

I've been hearing all week about questionable claims that unidentified "people" at a McCain/Palin rally yelled "Kill him", directed at Barack Obama.  And the only person that heard these un-verified remarks was ONE reporter that wrote ONE article.  All reports, commentary, articles, and video related to this refer back to that single, solitary reporter with no other witnesses, fellow journalists, or other evidence to support his claims.  Yet the media ran it non-stop and included B reel of Tina Fey on SNL behaving like a brain-damaged twit as filler.

This Ashley girl deserves everything that comes to her, but the Obama camp has their share of useful idiots willing to do the dirty work for him while he pretends to turn the other cheek.

You're dodging the fact that OBAMA uses Truth Squads, files DoJ complaints and threatens FCC licensure of anyone deiging to question him (not to mention what he does to private citizens).

I think Obama has put up with quite a bit of people slamming him. And I'm not aware of anything bad he does to private citizens. That's a new one to me.

How are Truth Squads "putting up" with anything? Do you agree with using the DoJ, state prosecutors and law enforcement to screen political speech?

How is threatening broadcasting licenses "putting up" with anything?

How is emailing supporters to jam radio station phones because the deign to interview Freddoso "putting up" with anything?

and use government computers and government time to research how to destroy a man's life OVER POLITICAL SPEECH... unlike Dem's claims of Bush shredding the Bill of Rights, if Obama is connected to this, he has used the first amendment for toilet paper... and he's not even in office yet.  How much more of this will go on if he's elected?  you ready for the audits just for belonging to this board?

And it seems Joe's DMV record was ILLEGALLY accessed three times AFTER  the Obama  question.

BTW, I wonder if, now that Barry's in Hawaii, he'll pick up that birth certificate, or is that too much to ask?
