I just watched Cloverfield.

Why did this movie get slammed so bad by the critics?

I thought it was pretty dang good.

Did anyone else catch this flick and what did you think?

Thought it was great and about time WE got our own monster!!!

Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

Some friends who I would normally trust for movie reviews panned it so it was quite a while before I saw it. But its a good movie! I hear part 2 is already in production.

Is the film choppy? Am I going to feel nauseous watching it like The Blair Witch Project?

They smooth it out -- the choppiness is only at the beginning.

Okay. Maybe I'll add it to my Netflix queue then. I thought the whole film was like that. My eyes can't handle the jerking motion for too long before I start to feel sick.

There is something about this movie that engaged me.

I have watched it like 5 or 6 times -- part of it is I can suspend disbelief and put myself into it "as if."

There are other aspects that just keep me coming back.

It is also a great time killer on flights -- it moves pretty well and is a nifty little 85 minutes it handles that lost hour and a half that most films won't fit into these days.

They are talking about a sequel -- the same event seen from the military perspective.

What was REALLY cool is at the absolute tail end of the credits there is this staticy crackle and then you hear the guy's voice
whisper "...help us..."
 :-)

I thought it rocked.

Especially after having once been bonered into actually paying cash to see the Mathew Broderick Godzilla Abortion in a theater.

Good monster flicks are hard to find.

I had the very same reaction that you did when I saw it, I liked it too.

We thought it was pretty good.  It is choppy throughout though.  I get sick too.  I had to watch with one eye closed for a while.  It was worth it.

Maybe in a theater that was the case but not on a TV.
Didn`t even really notice that part.

Yep I would.  Unless I am driving I can't even tolerate the curves of a PA back road. :-)
