redstate_democrat (1000+ posts) Thu Oct-09-08 12:14 AMOriginal message Do you think crazy, racist wingnuts will riot when Obama is elected? I think Mcfailin has stirred up some shit that is gonna be difficult for people to bottle back up. There are people out here who really HATE Obama, black folks, and Democrats in general. There are people out here who do nothing but simmer in a big pile of hate all day. What happens when these freaks wake up on November 5th with a black president named Barack Hussien Obama?I imagine some folks will blow their heads off. I imagine others will go on a lynch mob and kill a few blacks, gays, Muslims, "illegals", and bomb a few abortion clinics. Barack was right. Hard economic times does make people cling to their guns and antipathy for others not like them. We are headed into some hard times right now. Some of these folks have been out of a good job for a long time. Republicans have shipped their jobs away for years, but these same Republicans, every four years, come around and start stirring up these people's fears and playing on their weak emotions. And guess what? These folks vote for them all over again. The Republicans keep their base poor, angry and ignorant because anything other than that would be disastrous for their party. They need the redneck contingent. We are seriously at a cross roads in this country. Regardless of which way it ends, this country will never be the same again.I pray for this country in the coming weeks.

They think the "blacks", "Illegals", "Acorn", and "Wall Street fatcats who loaned to the blacks and illegals" are taking their hard earned tax money while they lose their jobs, retirements, etc. These people are being played like a fiddle by McFailin. Times are gonna be hard for a while. It's gonna be unbearable if McCain gets in. If you mix hate, a depression, and strong nationalist views, I think you know what you get. You get Nazi Germany.
grannylib (1000+ posts) Thu Oct-09-08 12:19 AMResponse to Original message 9. I've worried about the same thing. You're right, of course - keeping people poor, uneducated and POd is ESSENTIAL to rePigliCon "victory" and heaven knows, these 'people' will stop at NOTHING to get/keep money/power, so I do fear for what the right wing nut contingent might do...there may well be a lot of domestic terrorism committed by rePigliCon voters and supporters, probably under the guise of "Christian Patriotism" or some such bullshit.I hope we're wrong - but I do worry. These people are NOT RATIONAL. And they are truly hate-filled bigots. It's frightening. They vote. And what's worse, they BREED.

For someone who professes to put his "Country First", McCain and his brownshirts are putting the fabric of our socity at great and permanent risk with all the red meat they are throwing to large and growing unstable segment of the population. He and his campaign are now acting as traitors to the United States."Country First", my ass.
dicksteele (1000+ posts) Thu Oct-09-08 12:24 AMResponse to Original message 15. Yes. Some folks spend their lives looking for an excuse to committ such violence... And they're FINALLY getting the validation they cravefrom some real mainstream, national authority figuresinstead of just their usual fringe-group echo chambers.I expect that quite a bit of violence will result fromall the rabble-rousing & code-word-dropping McCain/Palin have been doing.
TwoSparkles (1000+ posts) Thu Oct-09-08 12:29 AMResponse to Original message 18. They'll sit down, shut up... Edited on Thu Oct-09-08 12:31 AM by TwoSparkles...and take it--like we had to do for the last eight years of unparalleled hell on a stick!I mean really. These people are going to get all upset over Obama, yet they have no emotion about Bush'seight years of utter failure and devastation that has systematically destroyed our countryand turned the United States into some kind of morphed version of what we knew as children?Maybe these shits won't think that "unitary executive" is so damn cute now, when it isn't their guy at the helm. How will they feel now--knowing that the President can illegallywiretap them and listen to them calling the LaToya Jackson hotline and ordering moreammo for their 46 guns? Not so funny now, is it Bubba? Oh well, they can always protest if they don't like it--in the designated "free speech zones", 20 miles from the speech that they're protesting.
eshfemme (1000+ posts) Thu Oct-09-08 12:33 AMResponse to Original message 20. These people are exactly the same sort of people that enabled atrocities like genocide They just accept the word of an authority figure and outright clap their hands over their eyes and ears in the face of facts just so they can remain in their safe little world even if that safe little world means that they are constantly the victims of the persecution of some "liberal media" or in danger of having America destroyed by the "libruls."I sincerely hope that no violence breaks out but with this behavior, I think that it is a weak hope... what is sad is that 2004 should have had some real riots with Dubya's re-election but there wasn't any. Why? Because despite the facade for democracy a lot of people knew that election was, we still soldiered on in the hope that true democracy would return if we tried hard enough. We learned not to hate anymore-- we learned to actively work for that hope and change so we didn't have to be put in the situation where we'd be in such despair. These people by contrast thrive on their persecution complex-- they can not think of a world where they don't have to be that way. Obama was probably not tactful but he was right-- they cling to their guns and religions because of their fear. The only problem is that their clinging to such dangerous things makes me want to arm myself to defend myself against the seizure of my democracy.
calmblueocean (1000+ posts) Thu Oct-09-08 12:35 AMResponse to Original message 22. Forget about riots. Prepare for paramilitary organizations. These people are locked into a fantasy world where Obama is some crypto-Muslim sent by Osama bin Laden himself to destroy America by infiltrating the presidency.I fully expect them to not just target Obama, but to target his daughters, maybe even blow up the White House.I'm not joking. The hate and fear in this country are beyond all knowing. They will do anything they can to destroy him. Tim McVeigh blew up the Federal building nursing a grievance that was a lot less consequential than the ones they try every day to convince themselves are true about Obama. They will destroy every institution in this country to get to him, starting with the mainstream media organizations which they are already convinced are engaged in a conspiracy with Obama.Prepare for levels of hate and insanity you have never seen before, and pray that the Secret Service does their jobs well.

Edited on Thu Oct-09-08 03:00 AM by CaptiosusMore than you know.I could relay a personal story involving a friend of mine whom I hadn't spoke to for many years and how, when I got back in touch with him last weekend, he spewed off hate, vitriol and bigotry so severe I felt literally sick at my stomach. This wasn't the friend I remember and I don't know where the hell my old, seemingly tolerant, friend has gone.I could type it out but it would be a long rant and would hurt again.I will, however, repeat, verbatim the last line he said before we ended our phone conversation:"If Barack HUSSEIN Obama wins this election, I'm moving up to my cabin in the woods because this isn't AMERICA anymore and I'll shoot anyone on sight who comes onto my property."
Kablooie (1000+ posts) Thu Oct-09-08 02:58 AMResponse to Original message 44. If McCain wins I expect quite a bit of civil unrest from our side too. God the Republicans have created this horrible civil war between the parties. It's certainly not going to help anybody.
I'd say it's a Hell of a lot more likely that some of our "Sophisitcated urbanites" will use an election loss by Obama as an excuse for a "HIghly-discounted shopping spree."
I will, however, repeat, verbatim the last line he said before we ended our phone conversation:"If Barack HUSSEIN Obama wins this election, I'm moving up to my cabin in the woods because this isn't AMERICA anymore and I'll shoot anyone on sight who comes onto my property."
Whew! That's a PC mouth full for, "Da nigga's, day bee stealing."
The DUchebags better hope not.I give this a 1% chance of happening and If the Obama loses I give riots in the urban area a 80% chance.
The DUmpmonkies want anarchy so bad they can taste it. Of course when someone with a gun shows up at their house they will shit their pants........when Hussein loses we know which group will be rioting... :mental:
Only 80%, ha, I'd give it a 105% chance.
The zombie holocaust will start in Indianapolis.
The other half and I were just having this discussion....he is convinced that if Obama is elected, someone will assassinate him whether it be foreign and blame it on someone in the US or domestic. And the ensuing riots in every major city will take a long time to settle.I think if Obama isn't elected.....there will be riots in all the major cities.
If the first scenario happens, it will bring about a civil war in my opinion. Who would benefit? The extreme leftist anarchists.
