I think I will just vote for Obama.
« on: October 05, 2008, 11:44:53 AM »
Now that it is obvious after the Senate bail out vote, that Obama and McCain are in the same bed, why not?

Both seem to be in favor of big government, and that will simply results in big taxes down the road, if not sooner.

One vote makes them equal?

The main issue for me is Iraq, I'd rather have our troops come home as victors with McCain instead of in defeat with Obama. I'd also hate to see Obama as President as he'll just throw more troops into Afghanistan without a plan and we'll suffer even more troop deaths and more setbacks there.

Vote for Obama and you'll be contributing to more U.S. troop deaths.

One vote doesn't make them the same... take a look at both of their records on war, abortion, taxes, education, etc. Maybe on the issue of immigration they seem the same, but I'd rather elect a RINO than an out and out Marxist who seeks to "Change" America so all we're left with is "hope".

Screw that. I'd rather take my chances with McCain than at the very least have my son in kindergarten learning how to put a condom on a banana. At the very worst, a nuke going off in NYC or Chicago because of Obama's pussiness (not a word, but it fits)when it comes to the war on terror.

Sure vote for Obama, after all the next President will only have 2 or 3 Supreme Court Justices to appoint. What difference could that make?

Saddly, Rob, you're incorrect. See the damage RB Ginsberg's ALREADY done to the Constitution? Even ONE can make a terrable difference.

I think Rob is saying that Mccain would appoint the same judge as Obama :mental:

Seeing that only Obama will be raising taxes, then why vote for Obama?

I refuse to believe that a vote for Obama would be the same as a vote for McCain. You have been reading this board for the past few months right?

The perfect is the enemy of the good. In a country of 300 million people, it is impossible to find a candidate who says they will do everything you would want a president to do. It's not going to happen. Period.

I'll cast my vote for McCain knowing that I don't agree with him on all issues but I certainly trust him more than I could ever trust Obama. It's not even close for me. And that says a lot since McCain was not my first, second, or even third choice.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

McCain > Obama

At the very least we get Palin out of it, who out of the four headliners is the only one who did not vote for the bailout (granted, she couldn't) and is the only one totally disconnected from all of the Washington mess.

edit: changed 'headlines' to 'headliners'

Who is going to pay for the bailout that McCain just voted for?

My guess would be taxpayers.

True.

I doubt Gov. Palin would of voted for such foolishness.

The Supreme Court wont keep taxes from going up. It seems like they mostly focus on social issues.

True..............but the USSC protects us from dumbass laws(usually) and protects the constitution.

All of these damn marxist like Obama want the Constitution torn to shreds and something closer to the communist manifesto to replace it. All you need to do is look at the Dump, Kos, Huffington to see how a person like Obama wants this country to be.

Always remember that Obama has a trillion dollars in new spending. Also not all of that 700 billion is being given at once. In all things said by Obama and mcCain only Obama wants to raise your taxes.  And if the oil companies move fast enough and start drilling right now since the ban is gone.........................that right there is a huge influx of capitol into the federal coffers.

No way in hell is McCain anything like Obama...................and I believe machosauce "Alfonso" says it best. "what McCain has given this country, you couldn't afford the taxes on"

The Kelo decision sure sucked.  Talk about ignoring the 'Intent" of the US Constitution.

This ruling is a poster child of it.

IMO anyway.

I agree with the importance of that. Most judges that make it to the SC have been lifetime politicians, which can be a problem.

I voted absentee today.  I voted for Obama.  I can't wait to have three more radical liberals stacked on the Supreme Court.  I mean, we really have to consider the court's "balance".

Hmmm, have to say I agree with Paladin0, your logic isn't tracking for shit on this.  Based on your supposed premise, the only sane thing for you to do would be to stay home.  Though insanity is a great reason to go with Obama.

I mailed my ballot in this morning too. I voted for Sarah Palin and that guy who is running with her.
