Just another Sunday
« on: October 05, 2008, 06:36:43 AM »
Football and beer.  All the housework is done, going to cook breakfast in a few, and settle in for the late morning/afternoon with a few games.

And this evening after a fine meal of tuna casserole, I'll prepare myself for the inevitable homicidal rant if the Angels should lose.  All in all, your basic Sunday...

Gonna do the usual Sunday morning things and then flip on the TV to watch NASCAR at Tally-dago. I'll fall asleep shortly after the start and hope to wake up for "The Big One" and the last 3 laps...... :rotf:

Will enjoy Fall weather, football and then baseball.

Enjoying the NY cries of misery with their watching Torre move on in the playoffs, and the success so far of the Red Sox.

...but there is good news for NY fans --- the pusification of Tom Brady continues as he and Giselle plan their wedding (she has totally ruined him).

Great time of year to live in New England.... the foliage is breathtaking.

And it seems to be much earlier than last year.  It's gonna be a cold one for sure.

Beautiful day here so far.  Slept in this morning, and plan to whip through some house cleaning in a bit (with all of us pitching in, it shouldn't take long).  Planning on making pizzas for dinner, and I need to take my daughter shoe shopping at some point.

Between all of that, there is football and NASCAR on, so I'll be a happy camper!

I'm hauling the Mancub into Milwaukee for a comic show today.  They always have a huge selection of out of production Star Wars toys so he is in Nirvana, lol.

Then this afternoon we are going to the house of a breeder my wife works with to meet their growed up Otterhounds to see if we get along with the breed.  If things click we are going to start looking for a less expensive breeder to buy a pup from.

Today is too busy to slack watching TV. Slept in a bit after a busy Saturday. Went to breakfast then the store for B-day supplies. Hit a couple of garage sales on the way home. After getting the party stuff together it's over to pick up the youngest and head over to her bigger sisters. We'll celebrate her youngests 1st B-day this afternoon. Then out to dinner with my family to celebrate another B-day that's happening tomorrow.

I need to go back to work so I can get some rest :-)

Still trying to wake up. Kid was on and off sleeping last night, so I had a busy night at 3 and 5 in the morning.

But I can't watch my team play football this afternoon, so I'll have to settle for getting the scores from my phone.. probably gotta go to Wal-Mart for some things, and then I dunno what. Just glad I'm not working today.

Hey asdf....how was the man-cub's b-day party....all the little knights have fun?

Watched UT beat my alma mater last night.....only reason they were able to is because NIU's quarterback got hurt and didn't play the second half. Word on the Sunday morning quarterbacking shows is that Fulmer and company won't be here next year.

Didn't get in any retail therapy yesterday as I chose to watch a couple of movies on the SciFi channel and read, so we are going to try to get to the Dollar Store and Sam's today. Will probably see the end of the race and a bit of football. Have a baby shower to plan.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood....sun's out, leaves are changing, bit of crispness in the air, and the deer girls and their babies have been out frolicking this morning. Lug-nut and Mrs. L will be enjoying their stay in our mountains.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

"My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far I've finished two bags of M&M's and a chocolate cake. I feel better already." – Dave Barry

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

I am killing time waiting for paint to dry.  I had the mad idea this morning that I should buy some bedroom furniture, having finally decided on a style for it.  One trip to an antique market later I then realised I would have to repaint at least one third of the room before next Saturday when the stuff will be delivered.  So I have put the first coat on the essential 1/3 of the room and will put the second on tonight (curses to the previous owners who painted the room canary yellow  :censored:) The rest will be painted over the week, what joy.

They had a great time!

We went for a group fire engine ride in the middle of it which the boys all thought was the awesome!!! :)  (Food drive at our local FD for the food pantry with rides for contributions)

No injuries either which is kinda shocking given the amount of plastic weapons being lung in such close quarters.

I slept in today.  I had gone to my friend's house for the usual Saturday gathering last night.  But yesterday I also had gone to school for a lab and then my mom and I went to this event at school together.

My plans for today include a shower and heading over to my brother's house to see the kiddos this evening.

Home from work once again.  Sundays are always the worst on weekends when it comes to 9-5 shifts, especially in the area I work in now.

Going to finish a homework assignment later this evening, but for now, I will enjoy relaxing for a couple of hours.  Got new pics of my nephew, so I might post one or two later.   :-)  He celebrated his 1st birthday on Sept. 26th ( I feel so OLD now!  :bawl: ).

That pretty much sums up what I did this afternoon! I did do laundry earlier today, my exciting life!

After working six out of the past eight weekends, I only had to work three days this week!

Even seen a moive last night, Beverly Hills Chihuahua it was cute, not my first choice, but the only movie playing in this no-theatre town, her kids liked it. Did the dinner and a moive family night thing.

I worked at Ottertoberfest at the zoo yesterday afternoon. It was fun, working at a "station" outside the river otter exhibit. There were river otter pelts and skull and a skunk pelt on the table. Talked to the kids about the animals and stamped a little piece of paper. There were 3 stations. When the kids got their final stamp, they got a prize. It was a little bag of candy and a $5 off certificate at the Build-A-Bear shop at the zoo.

After my shift, I went to see the 5 baby tiger cubs. They were adorable.

Then SR and I rearranged the lower level. We're converting it to a mini-gym. We'll take pics later and post them. We've been paying about $80 a month to work out at a local fitness center. They closed one location, so for about $385, we'll have professional equipment and be able to establish our own "circuit" in the basement.
