'Body parts' found in wreckage of Steve Fossett's plane
California officials said they have discovered body parts in the wreckage of Steve Fosset's plane in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Federal investigators from the national transport safety board said they had identified "a very small" amount of remains - but judged it was enough to provide DNA to coroners.

The board's acting chairman would not say exactly which parts had been found, while maintaining it was not surprising so little remained more than a year since the accident.

Rescue workers had earlier speculated that wild animals - the arid hills of eastern California are home to coyotes - might have eaten Fossett's corpse.

The remains of Fossett's single-engined Bellanca was discovered about 10,000ft up in the Sierra Nevada mountains west of the skiing town of Mammoth Lakes.

I wondered if they would find the plane.  I read yesterday about some people finding papers identifying him and some clothing.  It still kind of surprises me because I thought he was faking it.

They found an identification card - probably his pilots license - and a stack of $100 bills (don't all billionaires carry large amounts of cash with them?).

well, he was flying around the Sierra Nevadas and going to have lunch with another billionaire afterwards... I guess a stack of 100 dollar bills when youre flying around the country for an afternoon.
