ChanNenel 73 on the Dish Network is now The Obama Channel.

Obama's media buying strategy has been marked by a willingness to work the angles, and to try to pick up a few votes at the margins. The decision to go to everything from extensive radio buys to odd-hour infomercials reflects the fact that the campaign media buyers spend a lot of time thinking about how much persuasion any given dollar can buy, and given a very cheap format -- late night cable channels that need filler, for instance -- will settle for a thimblefull of persuasion.

The satellite channel is the latest of these marginal gambits: Three readers from different parts of the country email that Channel 073-00 on the Dish Network is now labeled OBAMA. ("What is up with Sen. Obama having his own channel?" asks a St. Louis reader.) The channel plays his two-minute ad laying out his economic plan on a loop, over and over.

Why does he need a single channel for himself. He has all the alphabet and legacy networks. Talk about a huge ego right there!

I wouldn't have known about this if I hadn't seen an article about it earlier.  What's stupid is that it's running one ad on a loop, why not all of his ads? It's probably better than FSTV.

You'd think this would somehow violate Federal Election laws.

With NBC being known as National Barack Channel in the industry and MSNBC on basic cable to boot, it seems like an unnecessary waste of money.

It's funny to see this posted here today.

The hubby and I stumbled onto this last night when we were flipping through channels.

All Obama, all of the time.

Just unbelievable.

It's sad to watch them.  CNN (Headline News) has nothing at all on Palin, so they keep running the same Tina Fey/SNL stories from last week.  And they're even going back for more.

Tina Fey: "I want to be done playing this woman by 2009."

It's a ridiculous spectacle.

Yeah, I'm a DISH subscriber and saw the Barack Hussein Obama channel last night while flipping throught the menu. This morning, I blocked it, but now it's showing up again as "Obama (paid ad)". I don't want his propoganda piped into my house day and night. Like part one of the Fairness Doctrine or something, if he cheated enough and won, it'd probably be the only channel offered.

I really want to get rid of having to see it on the menu. One of my neighbors actually called the HQ, and they said they were getting a lot of complaints. Barack Hussein obama alreadys has CNN, MSNBC, ABC, et al that do virtually the same thing for free.
