Tuesday.
« on: September 30, 2008, 07:06:03 AM »
I have GOT to start getting to bed earlier.  I was knocking around the house till almost 3AM before I nodded off.

I get to wade into the dust bunny wilderness that is the basement and try to get it clean so we have more usable space for the Mancub's birthday party on Saturday. Since the finished basement has become the place where all the Crap in the house goes to die and we haven't used it all summer theree are large free grazing mounds of organization down there that need to be culled and driven into market as it were. I'm grumpy about it because I have to clean my painting table and stick away about 50 unfinished projects.  And shelve a few dozen stacks of books. So it goes.

48 degrees today with a projected high in the mid 60's.  :-) Fall is fell!  :yahoo:

Eldest has an away game tonight and the Mancub has his swimming lessons tonight so dinner is up in the air.  I plan on watching the stock market finish melting down today. Gawd I HOPE it finishes melting down today I should say.

We took a hit in the shorts but these things are transitory.

Anyone out there have anything FUN going on today?

Just 4 more days until we arrive in the Smoky Mountains.   :-)

I'm with you, asdf. Rain came through last night and it's much cooler out! :-)

Nothing special today. Studying, getting ready to head out of the house for step. Relatively quiet day today. Lot's of housework sandwiched between studying. Ooh, I do need to go to Sam's club for detergent too. I'll stay away from the hanging rugs.(to debk :-*)

Have a good day folks.

Anything FUN?  Does watching th young one's football practice count?  Or how about the annual "Nutcracker role distribution" drama when my daughter comes home from dance?   :banghead:

Not too much on the agenda today...might try my hand at making some cinnamon raisin bread.

Need to get to work soon. As a sales rep to the federal government, this should be my busiest day. Sadly this year the federal orders are way down.

They told me at the sleep center that I'd jump out of bed with extra energy because I'm using their stupid sleep apnea machine. I feel like hell, can't sleep at night, hate the sound of that awful machine. It could be because I have a very bad cold and can barely breathe.

Tonight we're going to the tai chi class again.

Still working on my report (that's now late :( ) on the house with standing water in the crawl space. These are so much easier to do when I don't know the circumstances. (this is a short sale to prevent foreclosure)  :banghead: :banghead:

Lug.....supposed to warm up by Friday....upper 70's and nice through the weekend. News just announced UT has over 2500 tickets available for Saturday. Tickets are selling for as low as $10 or less from the scalpers.

Jty....if you go to Sam's....check out the velour warmups...from Jones New York. Bought one set and just the jacket of another to go with a pair of JNY jeans they had. The jeans are $60+ at Dillards and $19 at Sam's. :-) After the rug deal...we were trying on, in the aisle, over our clothes. At almost 6 on a Sunday evening...there were few people around. :uhsure:

Am trying to not hit panic button on this whole bailout deal.....worried that Obama will get elected because of it, wonder what will happen with my business (I'm a Realtor) and my SO's business. Didn't sleep well last couple of nights....I'm sure I'm just like a lot of other people right now......

It gets WAY easier the longer you use it.  If you are having problems with a cold try taking some sudafed to dry up right before bed.

I have been using mine for 4 years now and it makes a HELLUVA difference.  I couldn't use it for almost a week when I went to LA for Gustov and I was a zombie by about day 3.

Just stick with it.  After a while the sound of the machine will actually start to work as a "White Noise" generator believe it or not.

Lug ... You'll enjoy the Smokies ... welcome to the neighborhood.

I'm hitting Barnes and Noble after work.  A bunch of knitting pals are hooking up there in the Starbucks.

I'm still just plowing away every payday into my 457 (government version of a 401K).  I just keep telling myself that I'm buying cheap right now and as long as I don't cash out, I haven't lost anything.

Deb, hugs!

I guess this was a bad time to start, with such a bad cold.

Think it's freaking me out because my mom was on oxygen only the last 4 days of her life. She had a living will that directed no extraordinary measures. She was in the nursing home the last 4 days (the doc didn't move her to the hospital) and my sis and I stayed with her those long 4 days, listening to the labored sound of her breathing. The sound has been bringing back those awful memories.

But SR says it does sound like white noise.

I'm going to start painting my daughters room again in a few minutes.  I got less than 1/2 way around the room yesterday because I couldn't get the ceiling fan to work and it was hot as heck in her room.

I have a swollen lymph node on the right side of my neck.  It's been there for a few days and I also have canker sores.  So does my youngest daughter.  When she gets a canker sore I usually have one too.  I wonder if it is all connected.

Today it is only suppose to get to 85.  Shows I'm really a Texan if 85 gets me excited about fall.

Finished with class for the day.  Got 1 out of 3 tests completed for the week.  I definitely aced it. :)    Did some CR work, and am now resting for a bit before I make my way over to Wal-Mart to get some shopping done (gift card needs to be finished off).

I have a new room-mate arriving within the next two days.  (dammit! I was hoping to have the place to myself until the end of the semester! :p ).

I had class this morning.  I found out I got an A on my algebra exam I had last week.  w00t!  I also found out we have an exam in my dealership class on Thursday (of this week).  It's not that I don't know the information, but I need to figure out how to word the answers the way he wants them in there.  But overall, I'm not worried about the dealership class.

And I'm so happy with the algebra score, that when I went to the bank for work I told the guy that works the commercial lane.  LOL!  He was happy for me too.   :-)

I'm here at work now.  I actually have nothing to do this afternoon and I'm stuck here until 7pm, since I'm hourly.  :(

I went through the same stuff, back in about 1999, but the good news is the hospital was able to bill my insurance company thousands of dollars, and that did not include the monthly rental fees from the durbable goods company that "leased" me the machine, also owned by the hospital.  :-) I think the lease was $250 a month on a machine that could of been purchased for $2000.

I am pretty sure the sleep apnea craze was started in the 90's due to the fact they found a way for the insurance companies to pay for it!!! Hospitals were dropping every thing in order to build new sleep labs.

hang in there with the c-pap once you get acclimated to it, your life will be MUCH better!  If its any consolation they put one on little bug when she was a month old and about two pounds..she went INSANE and would burrow her little face into the mattress in her isolette and push it off her face constantly until the respiratory therapists couldn't tighten it any more without damaging her still unformed cartilege on her nose and face.  The doctors finally gave up and gave her straight oxygen after 24 hours of trying to make her keep it on!
