Please, somebody -- interview him about the bailout!

There are a few who understand reality but no surprise they are in the minority at the DUmp.

3. I really wish he would. But I think a silence deal was cut.
Spitzer was going public, so they threw sand in his eyes via going public on him having sex and paying for it.

4. I wonder if the illegal wiretaps trapped Spitzer
The Bush regime knew that Spitzer was on to them. I wonder if using the illegal wiretaps was what allowed them to take him down.

17. you are right he was targetted because of his work
he was a fail person at the same time and a democrat, therefor unlike republicans his failures as a person are more important than the other good works he was doing

Everyone missed this fact when they went after him. I posted here time and again the facts and all anyone cared about was where his penis had been - they missed the facts -

20. without a doubt
Spitzer was causing to much trouble for the wallstreet types.

And make no mistake. When you control billions and billions, you have power. Spitzer became inconvenient.

Having said that once the decision was made to take Spitzer out, his life style made taking him out easy.

Honestly I don't care one whit who Spitzer screws on the side, but he was unwise in the sense that if you know people are gunning for you, wearing a bullseye on your back is a bad idea.

We so own these fools.

I sort of liked Elliot Spitzer, but the republicans did not make him hire prostitutes, a crime for which he prosecuted others when he was AG. Why do high profile politicians think they will never get caught?

Since the news media seem to ignore obama's political sins perhaps they would be more interested in examining him if there was a juicy sex scandal, with videos.

Couldn't he have just left the files in the drawer for his replacement to find?

Eliot Spitzer was working with the real bad men.  He was bankrolled in his campaigns by Larry Kramer and a bunch of his (Larry Kramer's) clients and brokers who wanted to be favored by Larry Kramer.  FWIW, Eliot Spitzer and Larry Kramer were best friends in college and Eliot Spitzer is invested from the start in the hedge fund Larry Kramer started.

Larry Kramer was manipulating stock prices by writing columns.  He was also using information to manipulate stockbrokers (building a buzz) and using commissions to get information from brokers.  There is evidence of Larry Kramer committing Naked Short Sells, conspiracy to commit fraud, fraud, conspiracy to bribe a public oficial, bribery of a public official, and more.  Yes, this is the same guy that is on CNBC.

Spitzer notably failed to achieve one conviction against "The criminals" on Wall Street.

The CEO of Overstock.com has these guys cold, but has had trouble getting people interested in the case.

The only games being played on Wall Street were the ones emanating from Spitzers office when he was AG.

He used his power and position to go after the free market economy and big business to feed his anti-capitalism jones.

Just an amusing anecdote--yesterday, we had a minor work party at the deer camp I belong to.  Two of the guys are pretty diehard Dems.  They were both Hillary supporters, but I don't know who they've gone for now.  Anyway, one of them still has two "Spitzer 2006" bumper stickers on the rear bumper of his Silverado.  I asked him if he was ever going to take them off, and he said, "Hell no!  I paid good money for them," in a sarcastic tone.  One of the other guys who was up there chimed in, "So did Spitzer."

Supposedly, Spitzer did make an appearrance somewhere in NYC last week, but it was one where he didn't talk to the press.  :loser:
