Where is the ACORN hate coming from?
So at my mother's FUNERAL, a cousin-in-law (what do you call someone who marries a cousin?) said that Obama had helped the poor steal money from us through ACORN and proceeded to talk about how ACORN made the economic mess happen. I smacked her right back with actual facts about the mess, Obama, ACORN, etc. She said that she would "have to check out what I had said on the Internet," and warned me that in her experience, "everything about Obama was a lie."

She then went on to hand out religious literature at the reception after the funeral, ignoring my requests for her to stop and extolling the virtues of Sarah Palin who had "more executive experience" than Obama. *Snort!* *Guffaw*

Anyhow, where is the anti-ACORN stuff coming from.

And for the record, she is lucky I didn't deck her. It has been a nasty six weeks for me, and this behavior at my mom's funeral was beyond belief. I have had my goddaughter die (age 20), my grandmother die (At whose funeral my cousin, this twit's husband, took the side of the shooter in the Unitarian shooting!) and now my mom. We also declared bankruptcy in this period of time and have dealt with several layoffs this year. I'm a writer and journalist, so as you can imagine, things have not looked up for my job prospects in a long time.

But anyhow, her brush with the potential of my shortened temper aside, when did ACORN become a target?

Your funeral lies aside, maybe it's beacause they are one of the biggest sources of VOTER FRAUD around?!

3. from the rightards who are trying to push the Voter Fraud Meme
when there is no voter fraud issue, but there is a huge election fraud issue, these same rightards don't want you and I to talk about. ACORN is their "patsy".

Another manufactured distraction from their own crimes....

20. ACORN is their worst nightmare
They help poor and underprivileged people work for social justice, housing rights, minimum wage increases, paid sick leave, etc, etc.. you know, DEMOCRATIC issues.

And worse than that, they help people to register to vote.

And how is that a threat?

Well, the GOP has recognized a fact of voting statistics - that the more poor people who register to vote, the worse the GOP does in elections.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if ACORN was the reason for demonizing "community organizers".

Its just all those 'low information' tax payers who don't want the wall street bail out to be a bonanza for ACORN, the Urban League and other liberal causes. I am a bit surprised that the administration bought into that little deal. I guess Bush and the dems cut a deal to make sure all of their friends got on the gravy train.

Bush lost my respect with that cute maneuver. I have been a staunch defender of many of his policies, however I will not defend the indefensible. Community organization indeed.
