Happy Friday. woot.
« on: September 26, 2008, 07:37:08 AM »
I want to sleep in tomorrow.  Just till 8am. A couple extra hours isn't too much to ask is it?

I HATE early mornings. I am almost an anti-morning person.  Summer is great because the kids sleep in till 9 or 10 somedays.  The September rolls around and makes me it's bitch once again.

When I do a disaster deployment it's different. I can pull short sleep and be up at 5am and be on the road in 20 minutes ready to work. Of course I am so tired by the end of the day that I fall asleep at 8 or 9, but hey, the whole morning thing works there.

So, yeah, I stayed up till 4:30 or so playing Lego Batman on the 360 and fell asleep in the recliner for an hour before getting woken up by an amused wife who called me a dumbass and sent me off to bed.  90 minutes later I was being shaken awake by one of the kids to try to ungroggify with some coffee to take the Mancub into his school.  :p

On a plus note I finished the entire first chapter last night!  :-)

The Lego games (Batman, Star Wars and Indiana Jones) are like digital crack.  I swear I just sat down to play for like, half an hour before bed and the next thing you know I'm waking up in a public bathroom in Tijuana broke and with four new tattoos and some guy named Raoul smiling at me.  :banghead:

Sunny and supposed to hit 80 degrees this afternoon. We are watching the news and trying to decide if we sell or hang onto a bunch of stock shares right now. I hope to hell they iron out something SOON in DC.  Planning on watching the debate tonight and seeing how McCain and Superman do head to head.

Gotta run the mancub into the halls of higher learning now.

Anybody have fun plans for the weekend? (Other than Mamacags who I'm sure is plotting the many uses for her new case of "Liquid Ass")  :-) :lmao:

Oddly enough, I did woot.  Got the wife a nice Scooba.

Thanks for the warning; I'll avoid the videogames.  I need another hobby like I need another tooth extracted...
Those who see their lives as spoiled and wasted crave equality and fraternity more than they do freedom. If they clamor for freedom, it is but freedom to establish equality and uniformity. The passion for equality is partly a passion for anonymity: to be one thread of the many which make up a tunic; one thread not distinguishable from the others. No one can then point us out, measure us against others and expose our inferiority.

Got Mrs. Tantal off to work and the kids to school (no, I'm not unemployed. I work 10 hr. shifts Mon.-Thurs.). Now, I'm about to do about a 4 hour bike ride (motorcycle, not bicycle) just for the fun of it. After that, I pick the kids up and we all drive to College Station, TX to watch the Fightin' Texas Aggies play Army at Kyle Field tomorrow.

asdf, I'm also not a morning person.  Everyone at work leaves me the hell alone until at least 10am.

Today is statement day, but I'm not too stressed about it.  It's Friday and that means Happy Hour.  My friend and I are leaving work at 4pm and getting a few drinks and dinner and then going to see the movie "The Women."  It's a chick flick, but not one of those sappy love stories (I don't care for those).  It looks pretty funny.

So, since I'm leaving work at 4 and there's no way I'm going to get the statements done, that means I have to work a few hours tomorrow.  No biggie.

Started the 9/80 schedule recently and this is our first "off" Friday.  Three-day weekend, and didn't even need a holiday.

However, rain all weekend.  Evil mood ensues.  Will be working in the house today cleaning/doing laundry.  After that's done I might imbibe some frosty beverages this afternoon and play the "freeroll" poker tournament over at the American Legion.

Still trying to get in to do 2 interiors. Not getting between an owner, tenant and the cops. So far...no one can confirm the tenants are gone.

We're staying in tonight. M didn't much last night...cats kept jumping on him and waking him up. He's snarky and the cats are still acting weird. It's supposed to rain...AND we want to watch the debate.

I'm thinking there's a manicure and pedicure in my schedule for tomorrow and maybe some retail therapy. I haven't visited the Dollar Store or Ross's lately. :-)

Hey Mia....let me know what you think of the movie ....I want to see it.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Will do.  It looks cute during the trailer.  But remember, I am going to Happy Hour beforehand and this theater we go to serves beer as well.  I may think it's the most hilarious movie eva and it could just be the Shiner Bock talking.   :-)

YAY!

Groceries are groced, vacuuming is vacuumed, tidy jobs are jobbed, the kids are doing their own stuff and I have half an hour or so till Dinner goes in the oven.

Boneless thick cut poke chops baked with mushroom soup over the top and garnished with deep fried onions, mashed garlic spuds, steamed broccoli, snap peas and carrots and crusty rolls.   Even gots an apple pie for dessert later.

And I am having my second Sangria even as I type.

God is in his Heaven and all is right on Earth. :-)

ASDF - can you start a Man School or something? :-)

I'm sick as a dog and it's 60 degrees and raining. I will be couch surfing all weekend if I can get mancub and papa bear to function by themselves. I think pizza and Playstation will do the trick.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I have found a downside to my new work schedule.  :whatever:

I still get two days off a week, but they're now on Thursday and Sunday.  It's like having two Mondays in one week.
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

*sighs*  Today was NOT a good day for me.   my car got broken into while I was at work, yet nothing seems to be missing.   Bosses didn't seem to care at all, and made me continue to work (after taping a garbage bag over the window.) :bird:

Yay, I get to cough up a few hundred dollars to replace a f***ing window!  :censored:

Pizza has been ordered. Half a glass of cabernet sauvignon has been consumed. C-Span Debate Cam is fired up on my computer. I think I'm set.  :-)

*sighs* Life is pretty good right now.

I'm sorry to hear that... getting broken into just plain sucks.

This isn't the first time, either.  First time, an ex room-mate broke into my locked-up bedroom in my old apartment, while I was still in the process of moving to another apartment,  and stole several hundred dollars worth of stuff.  Never got any of that back.

I'm lucky that the car wasn't stolen, since the alarm never went off, and am in the process of looking for a better security system (friend says factory-installed security alarms are VERY easy to bypass without setting them off, as the one in their Toyota Sequoia got bypassed and the vehicle was entered in BROAD DAYLIGHT, and their purse stolen).

Monday, I'll be at the dealer for awhile.  I may be getting help from my dad on this, so I won't be nearly as broke.
