Hillary Clinton coming back?
« on: September 25, 2008, 12:36:50 PM »
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1061791/Could-Clinton-come-Internet-buzzes-rumours-Biden-replaced-Hillary-Obamas-running-mate.html

I know a similar story was posted here earlier, but this is a different story, with other information.

Quote
The internet is buzzing today with the rumour that Barack Obama's gaffe-prone running mate Joe Biden will drop out of the race for health reasons - to be replaced by Hillary Clinton.

John McCain's selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate has created so much interest in the Republicans that Mr Obama will have to make a radical move to regain momentum, the argument goes.

Mrs Clinton could be just the key. Mr Biden, who had surgery in 1998 to repair two brain aneurysms, would drop out after the vice presidential debates due to be held on October 2, according to the claims - leaving the way open for the former First Lady.

Quote
Most are dismissing the rumour as the usual internet chatter. But it has been given added weight by those who have not addressed it - namely Fight the Smears.

Fight the Smears is a website the Obama campaign set up to quash just such damaging Internet rumours - but it has not yet touched this one, though that may be out of fear of fuelling the rumour.

The Obama campaign has not commented on it, other than to say that Biden’s medical records will be released soon.

Snopes.com, a site devoted to picking apart online rumors and urban legends, has labeled the status of the claim “undetermined.” Several online discussion boards have been loaded up with denials.

There might be joy elsewhere if this were to happen, but there won't be any joy on Skins's island.

Even if the Obama campaign is keeping its options open, the ultimate question isn't what Obama wants, it's what Hillary wants.  Being his Veep is not in her own best interests.

Yet, if Biden were to step down and Obama, were to have to choose someone else, that could give Hillary the opening to run as an Independent democrat. :-)

someone, Baruch, I believe, reminded me last night that one of The BarackStar!'s fatal flaws is that he is incapable of admitting error . . . any error.  I just don't think he could bring himself to replace biden, since it would be just that.

which is what she should have done as soon as she figured out the Dems were demonizing her.

Hilary is not going to jump on the ticket as second choice.  I don't think she ever had any intention of joining the ticket and would not be surprised if she made that VERY clear to the upstart Oba-man.

Anything nObama does is simply a reaction to McCain.  It's like watching a chess master play with somebody that thinks they are good at chess.  Every move (since Palin) has had Barack "My brother lives in a hut" Obama literally scrambling to keep up.  That unbalance just keeps adding to his gaffes.  Is he seriously waiting by the phone for : "Mr Obama; it is Washington on the phone, they're calling you back because they need you."  What a fracking idiot.

Hillary will agree to be his Veep as long as that means she's at the top of the ticket.

Even if Biden drops out, there is no way in Hell Clinton will end up his running mate. Too much drama has happened.

Probably the Big Zero will have to drop out and Hillary will have to take his place and Biden will be kept on to keep making gaffs because it's funny and will distract people from another Saul Alinsky disciple on the top of the ticket.

Supposedly Hillary was never vetted by the Obama "team". I believe it was someone from Obama's campaign that was interviewed and he said she never was a "consideration".

Bill Clinton said today he thought that McCain did the right thing by coming back to Washington. He was putting his country first.......

.....has Clinton started campaigning for McCain/Palin and we all missed the announcement?

Bill is pissed at Obama and his crew. When he gets in that voting booth, I think he will pull the lever for McCain. The Hilda beast is another story.

I am not so sure that Hillary would not accept the VP slot. It would be rather funny to watch videos of her denouncing the Magic Negro. Like I was against him but now I am for him. However, the Clintons are a pair that beats a full house.

he also said repeatedly that there was no way that mccain was trying to avoid debating obama, because mccain had proposed many more debates (the townhalls) all over the country previously.

About 30 seconds after Bill's convention speech (a speech that he HAD to give and give well) he started unoffically campaigning for McCain.  He wants nObama so Hillary can run in 2012.  The Clintoons don't give a **** about the Dem Party; they only care about themselves.

Considering where it's going, I can't blame them.  Clinton is at the bottom of things a "Great Society" or LBJ Democrat, fundamentally a middle of the road guy who wanted the perks of being Prez, and now enjoys the perks of being an ex-Prez, but who has zero ideological commitment to the Marxist/anarchist bullshit the Obamites live and breathe.

The "Independent Democrat" shtick worked for Joe Liebermann in the unique conditions of his state, but it would have been political suicide for Hillary to do that in the Presidential race, she would have been the Bad Girl of the Democrats for the rest of her life for splitting the party and losing the election for them, in much the same manner as Teddy Roosevelt and the Bullmoose Party.  The political instincts of the Clintons seem to be working perfectly in the whole fray so far, as I see it.
