Lots of people who grew up in one-parent households turn out fine. But it seems like when there is some sort of behavior issue or sex issue, the dad is absent. Sometimes when I bring this up, those who DID grow up in one-parent households may take offense.

My Dad was absent in my life.  I didn't have a male roll model growing up, my Step Dad wasn't a very good example of how a man should treat a woman either.  If I hadn't met my husband (then boyfriend) at the age of 15, I would undoubtedly be married to an alcoholic/abuser.  I owe the person I am today to the great person my husband is.

Yuppers.  My father was murdered before I was born.  I had the benefit of growing up for many years with my grandparents because of my mother's proclivities at the time, and my grandfather was an old fashioned guy; they kind who always kept the yardstick close by in case you forgot to say "Yes m'am".  My sister wasn't so fortunate.  She lived with my mother the entire time and is now incarcerated.  Probably will be for the rest of her life.

I'm also a single dad and I have to tell you it's much, much harder.  I was fortunate enough to be blessed with three very smart and very well behaved young boys.

No BS from me either.  I seriously think the lack of a father figure alone is responsible for the reason a large portion of our population are so screwed up.


I also don't believe for a second that this class starts at age 15.

It probably does BG.  And it is probably a community program through a Unitarian Universalist "Church"  or a GLBT Social Club.

As the father of three daughters...two of them teens...I can honestly say that LeftyMom is full of sh*t.

I'm sure that they also think it's OK that the underage primitive "asserts her independence" while her mom foots the bills. They always do get indignant when their parents won't help fund them to live the "alternative lifestyles" they choose, even though the parents may vehemently disagree with it. Even when the "children" are in their twenties and thirties.

It could have been Mensa.  It seems to me that members of Mensa are those who tested well (>95%) but are losers who compensate by participating in a club that affirms their innate superiority (rather than by, you know, accomplishing anything).  [NB:  This does not apply to everyone who joins Mensa, rather to those who (a) are active, and (b) put it on their resume.  Like disgraced PA Senator vince Fumo.)  I can see those losers enticing underage girls to strip for them in this manner.

The last PLAYBOY I bought was for the interview (about 1980). They had an interview with Barry Goldwater in it. Don't remember who the centerfold was.



....and it was the last one I bought......not the last one I looked at.....
