I won't feel safe either, but I am feeling more and more positive. Ditto on Obama's lack of "background" and the fact he runs from and avoids his past. One thing that has boosted my optimism are some groups I've run across on a knitter/crocheter website, Ravelry.com. The place has grown to around 197,000 members in just shy of 2 years and membership is international. It averages about 1200 members online at any given time. Now, why do I bore you with this info

The day after Palin was announced, I ran across a "Hillary" group there and guested in to see what was up there. I don't know how much actual sway the women's vote will make in numbers, but this group of pumas are disgusted with the democratic party and though some are refusing to vote, a large number of them are Palin and by association McCain fans. They are not forgiving of the fact the DNC threw Hillary under the bus. There's also a 500 member McCain group there and those that are talking, are talking intellegently. As I said, it's doing my heart good to see and hear.
