8. They hit both stores every Sunday.
 They are intelligent, creative guys. My youngest just got the first real haircut of his life (He will be 26 in November).

They just don't like being around gay people, for some reason.

That's the nice thing about being 1,800 miles away.

My own brothers are homophobes... And I think it's because of where they were raised (also Texas) and not because of our parents, although to a certain extent it is my parents' fault since they never objected to any of the homophobic or racist or sexist things they said.

How did you deal with your sons being homophobic? Did you talk to them about it? Why were they unable to understand why their hatred is wrong?

 This all started after I left Dallas. Neither their Mother or I can figure it out.

I just don't deal with it. They are certainly entitled to their own opinions. I have never listened to anyone who tried to tell me how and/or what to think, and I would never expect my sons to, either.

You are right, of course, that they are adults and you can't tell them what to think, but how can the be sophisticated and so freaking prejudiced? What exactly are they sophisticated about? Certainly nothing to do with gender preference, religion (or at least Judaism) or race. And if they're that smart and "sophisticated" (I'm sorry but I have to put it in quotes) then they should be very open to reason in those areas.

And so I hope you're planning to discourage them from voting in November, as they probably aren't too fond of the idea of a Black man in the White House.

 They're not even registered with Selective Service, or whatever the draft thing is called.

My oldest didn't get a SSN until he was 25.

37. I would have thought the government
 would have wanted him to have a SSN if he was getting money from a trust in the first place. If he was filing any kind of tax forms.

I have a 25 year old and a 20 year old, and we needed a SSN for the older one by the time he was four or so because of money invested for him. The younger one got one more or less as we left the hospital.

Good luck to you TomInTib as the father of 2 homophobes. It sounds like you love them a lot. But you seem to have more tolerance of their bigotry then I would. I come from a huge family. Many of them are very supportive of my partner and I. The rest as far as I know are neutral. And those that I know probably despise me for being gay, I haven't had any contact with in years.

They have a right to their opinions...but one of the nice things about becoming an adult is I don't have to put up with homophobic and sexist attitudes any longer. They do their things, I do mine. And if any of my homophobic family members were stupid enough to come to my home or approach me with their negative views, I have no problem with telling what they can do with their views. Thankfully, most of my family has been respectful.

The whiteguyPI catches the Tibster in another lie.  Unfortunately for TiT, wgPI lives in Dallas in an area called Uptown.  Uptown is very close to the Oak Lawn area.  Unfortunately for Tit, the Pride parade was and always is on Cedar Springs not Oak Lawn.  The grocery store is affectionately known around town as "Gay Kroger".  I shop there every friday night...love the place.  If this story even took place, his boys would have had a long wait.  The street was closed the whole day and was still closed at 2a when I came home from work.

Since when did Tit live in Dallas?  All of his stories always placed him living in the Houston area.
