Quote
Detroit fans, your wish appears to have finally come true.

The Lions have finally removed team president and GM Matt Millen from his post, FOXSports.com has learned, unseating one of the most criticized executives in Detroit sports history.

Millen was informed of the move Tuesday night during a late-night high-level meeting. Wednesday morning several people within the building confirmed that he had large packing boxes in his office and he made his way around to different employees telling them of the move.

It is unclear if Millen was fired or removed himself from the equation but the news comes just days after Bill Ford, Jr. publicly stated he would have fired the GM if it was his decision.

The Lions have started off horribly and the groundswell for Millen's demise has once again been strong. That's nothing new — events like the Millen Man March, an in-game walkout protest, and calls for Millen's firing have been going on for years.

matt millen shouldn't just be fired, he should be thrown into jail .... cause just how stupid can one person be & not be considered a threat to society ??  :hyper:

thankfully,  this gives the bears at least 2 more wins this season too !! (after what millen has done to the lions that is)

Stupid....Stupid???? Millen is stupid? He got 35 million for his accomplishments. :censored:  :banghead: Sounds pretty smart to me. It's William Clay Ford Sr. that's stupid. 44 years of the same ole same ole.

The picks of Harrington, Mike Williams and Kevin Jones just killed them. A perennial scout team QB, a 2nd string TB at best and a WR...is he even on a NFL roster now???

mike williams is out of football & supposedly smoking away the millions he got ...

K Jones ain't so bad, but, he's definitly not a  #1 stud rusher....

looks like firing JT O'Sullivan was Millens latest, worst move...

then firing Mike Martz was the breaking point for this team...

martz ain't a good HC, but he sure is a good  OC...even a great one w/ the right personnel....

notice what martz has done with  O'Sullivan in San Fran....

I'm sure that martz wanted to  insert him in there in Detroit & things would've been at least a tad better for the Lions...

but, you don't get rid of  kevin jones, damien woody,  shaun rodgers, O'Sullivan & Martz & expect to be better this year, now do you....

yeah, Matt Millen definitly  highlights  how stupid 'captialism' has become in america..... how does one live a  800 miles from their work, do a horrific job for most of 8 years & still walk away w/ 35 mil ??

specially when that job is simply FOOTBALL?? something simple
