This is a typical bitter DUmmy screed, so I'll edit out parts of it:

the REAL family values.
I have just lately gotten back to work after a month-long lay-off. I had a lot of time to think about the future and what it holds for all of us. I had way more time on my hands than I have ever had in my adult life. I didn't like it.

Recession, depression, whatever you call it means the same to me. Less building means less work, In the future I am guaranteed to be short of work and in no position to ask for a progressive wage. I am 44 years-old and have been doing the same thing, more or less, since I was 19 years-old. 25 years of sawing and joining wood. A man that knows how to build and repair nearly anything should never have to struggle to find work.

....blah blah blah

She lives in north Alabama, an eight hour trip away. She has finally won me over and I am going back to the town of my birth to live in their house with them. I figure that if I must ride out a depression that I should a least live where the rest of my large extended family lives.

Mom and Dad can no longer manage either physically or financially in their retirement. Their house is falling apart. My Dad is no carpenter, he tries hard but he really never seems to get it right.

...blah blah blah

I don't want to live in Alabama. I am way too informed and outspoken for them.

So here we are a man and woman who after having worked all of their lives face an uncertain future of way too many bills and not enough money and a 44 year-old son and his wife who being short on work must move back in with them.

Despite this horrible Bushco economy, DUmmy angrycarpenter has a job in the building trades in Florida. But he is going to quit his job and move to Alabama, so he and his wife can pile into his parents' decrepit shack and sponge off their retirement checks.

DUmmy angrycarpenter is unhappy about this, because he is way too smart for Alabama.

When you read the DUmp, you come to the realize the worst thing about this horrible Bushco economy. All of the best and brightest people, who are DUmmies, are constantly in dire straits financially. Ignorant Republican rednecks are, for the most part, happy and prosperous. It just isn't fair for these low-information people to be happy.

I think you've summed it up perfectly.  :-)

His father might finally get the basement refinished.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

When my great-grandparents needed help, my parents moved in and took over the heavy work so they could stay in their own home, on the farm. This was 50 years ago.

When my grandmother and my parents began to have trouble keeping up, my brother moved back to the farm to help.  This allowed my parents to stay in their home (the same home as above), until they died.

Absolutely none of it was because of "THE ECONOMY."  It was because families take care of each other, if there is any way to do so.

It's too bad a DUmmy needs to get angry and blame the government instead of being grateful that he still has parents, and that they want him.

I just left Alabama.  I actually liked living there.  The people were friendly and helpful, and the economy when I left was doing quite well.  Me thinks the DUmbass doesn't want to go because he might actually land a friggin job... :whatever:
Destroy all that which is evil, so that which is good may flourish

Women and children are precious resources to be protected at all costs.  Men are expendable commodities whose function is to protect those resources, at all costs.

So how does it feel to know that someone's kid in the heart of america has blood on their hands to defend your rights so you can maintain a lifestyle that insults his family's existence?

He finally gets work after being unemployed for a month and now he wants to pick up and move to another state?  I don't get it.

Just because people don't care about the same things you care about does not make those people dumb.  To think so makes you a DUmbass.
