Are the number of alerts from individual DUers tracked?

Call me crazy (you'd be at least half right), but I suspect this wonderful community of ours has at least a couple of high-volume "alerters."

Is anything done to monitor how frequently people send alerts and the outcomes of those alerts? Are warnings ever issued to people to cool their jets with their itchy alert trigger fingers?

Democrats are quick to point out any perceived offense in the real world. Why would DU be any different?

1. IMO, a mole would try to maintain a very unexceptional profile - not too visible, posts or Reports, and not too invisible. So if there are Frequent-Reporters on DU, those members probably are not moles or trolls.

2. Historically - the Reign of Terror, Hitler's SA purge, Stalin's purge of "Old Bolsheviks" - lefties turn on each other in purity and power witch hunts. If there are Frequent-Reporters on DU, ordinary DU-folk should fear Proggier-Than-Thou witch hunts. Don't be the first to stop clapping or clap too quietly, Comrade.

I agree. I imagine them being like that HOA member who constantly checks neighborhood yards for shrubbery violations.
