Northern Virginia High School Has a Major Antisemitism Problem

https://hotair.com/john-s-2/2026/08/12/norther-virginia-high-school-has-a-major-antisemitism-problem-n3817933

The only thing surprising about this story is that almost no one has heard about it before now. Yorktown High School in Arlington, Virginia is a large school with more than 2,500 students. Those students come from different backgrounds, but at Yorktown a group made up of mostly Muslim students targeted and harassed Jewish students while the school mostly did nothing at all.

The Virginia attorney general’s office eventually investigated the claims but none of the findings have been released to the public. But the Free Press got a look at a lengthy summary of the evidence.

Quote
One male Jewish student reported being repeatedly targeted because he wore a kippah, which a female classmate tried to pull off his head. After a male student called him an antisemitic slur, he began covering his kippah with a baseball cap. A female Jewish student said that she was chased because she was Jewish, and other Jewish students described seeing Nazi salutes, hearing Holocaust jokes, and being told that they belonged in a gas chamber or that “Hitler should have finished the job.”...

After Hamas attacked Israel, Jewish students at Yorktown were mocked for their faith and blamed for the resulting war, according to the report and my own reporting. They were targeted mostly by Muslim boys, the affected students said. Child B told The Free Press that she did what students are supposed to do if they experience harassment: She reported the incidents. But nothing changed. Trying to stop antisemitism at Yorktown eventually felt almost pointless. “There was no follow-up,” she said. “Nobody came to see me.”...

At school, the same student and several of his friends began staring at Child A when she walked by in the hallways, shining phone flashlights at her, and repeatedly shouting “Allahu Akbar,” Arabic for “God is great,” investigators said. The Jewish student reported the harassment to a school counselor on October 12, 2023.
...
About 15 Jewish students met with school principal Kevin Clark and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) coordinator Ackesha Patrick to describe what the students saw as a growing climate of antisemitism.

Investigators said that the descriptions were so disturbing that Patrick cried during the meeting. She wrote, “Antisemitism runs rampant across APS” in her notes, according to a student who saw the notes.

But those words led to little action...

School inaction means bullies know they can bully safely and even escalate. State of Virginia silence and, so far, inaction tells the unresponsive local educates that their inaction is OK and will lead to zero consequences. MSM incuriosity means that every new crop of students entering that high school unaware and unprepared, and the taxpayers who fund that school - how many other schools similarly tolerate antisemitic bullying?- are kept blissfully unaware of how the schools they fund are mismangled?

RFK Jr. Says Biden Administration Gutted Anti-Fraud Staff Overseeing $2.2 Trillion in Payments

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. criticized his predecessor, Xavier Becerra, arguing that staffing reductions within the department's program integrity division left federal health programs vulnerable to widespread fraud and contributed to billions of dollars in improper payments.

Speaking during a recent event, Kennedy described what he said he found after taking over the Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees trillions of dollars in annual federal health care spending.

Poorly written article. The upshot is that when Becerra came into office there were a totally inadequate 80 people working to detect fraud, and he transferred some of them away from fraud detection, making the problem worse.

ACLJ Files Lawsuit Against New York Town for Excluding Nativity Scene From Public Square

Last month, we warned officials in Brighton, New York, that they could not constitutionally exclude a Nativity scene from a Christmas display in the town square while allowing other displays commemorating special religious holidays and events throughout the year. We gave the town every opportunity to correct its unconstitutional policy voluntarily.

Instead of complying with the Constitution, town officials chose to ignore our demand for compliance with the law and have decided to continue to engage in viewpoint discrimination to exclude our client’s religious speech: a Nativity scene.

The ACLJ just took the next step by filing a federal lawsuit to protect our client’s First Amendment rights.

At the heart of this case is a simple constitutional principle: Government officials cannot open a public forum for private holiday expression and then exclude certain speech simply because it is religious or less favored. The First Amendment requires government neutrality toward religion – not hostility.
