Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul has released parts of Dr. Anthony Fauci’s private diary revealing some of what he really believed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Fauci, who served as Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases during President Trump’s first term, recounted a February 1, 2020 conference call with several high-level scientists who were divided over the possibility of “deliberate insertion,” the idea that Wuhan lab workers intentionally added a protein spike, genetically engineering the COVID virus.

Some of the scientists believed that deliberate insertion was possible considering how Dr. Zheng-Li Shi of the University of Wuhan had worked for years on gain of function research in coronaviruses in an effort “to allow adaptation of the spike protein to bind to the human ACE2 receptor,” Fauci recalled. “We could not let this go,” Fauci added.

“They bring up the possibility that this could have been deliberately inserted and either accidentally released or deliberately released by a crazy person in the lab, the former being the most likely,” Fauci wrote. “Now we know the market was not the source, it was the amplifier.”

Despite taking the possibility of deliberate engineering of the COVID virus seriously in private, his tune was much different in public. Months after his conference call, Fauci completely wrote off such concerns in a May 2020 interview with National Geographic, calling the lab leak claims “circular arguments.” Sen. Paul pointed out that “Fauci said the virus was ‘totally consistent’ with an animal-to-human jump.” Other scientists and health leaders in Fauci’s circle, however, were more skeptical.

Dr. Anthony Fauci became increasingly fixated on his newfound fame as pandemic deaths soared, reveal the former White House COVID adviser’s newly released diary entries.

As early as April 2020, when more than 60,000 people had already died of COVID in the United States, the man in charge of America’s response to the pandemic was obsessing about his recent stardom, according to journals released by Kentucky Republican Sen. and long-term Fauci critic Rand Paul.

“Press still hot and heavy about me. Multiple stories per day directly or indirectly involving me,” Fauci wrote in an entry dated April 7, 2020, amid intensifying media coverage around the White House Coronavirus Task Force.

On May 21, 2020, the top doc wrote that his “national and international fame is explosive and really unimaginable,” adding it was “not hyperbole” to describe his celebrity in terms of global recognition, according to the diary.

In late June 2020, as US daily COVID cases reached a record 40,000 in a single day, Dr. Fauci felt fit to mention that he had received an invitation to appear on TV’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

The doctor also repeatedly addressed his growing friction with the Trump White House, claiming that “countless” media profiles about him, and his increased media presence, were turning him into “a star that outshines” the president, he wrote.

Fauci's ego got fed by his new-found celebrity, and his pronouncements were driven by his ego, seasoned with Trump-Envy.

In this corner, wearing a smug grin and a questionable presidential pardon, is Fauci, who appears to crave attention more than that transgender freakshow Dylan "trans on a can" Whatshisface.

It appears that Fauci used the MSM to feed his ego, while the MSM used Fauci's egotistical Trump-Jealousy to fuel their own Trump-Hatred. It was a perfect intersection of malevolence. For the MSM, at least it worked, LIEden became President.

I'm not sure how much I was posting here in spring 2020, but it wasn't until the April-May time frame that I realized that Fauci was intentionally upstaging and often contradicting President Trump at the daily press conferences. The Covid news I was following at the time was mainly developments of treatments and vaccines and government actions (there was some family context in this). Recognizing the arrogance underlying Fauci's theatrics followed.

Having been hospitalized with it, I did and do not buy into the Covid-is-a-hoax BS that was circulating at the time and still seems to be. Those voices were part of the context in which I was observing; sometimes one kind of crazy can smokescreen crazy of the opposite kind.

Rand Paul ad other R Senators (I expect Dems to fawn on Dr. Fauci and lick his boots) need to keep reading passages of Fauci's diary and asking him about what he wrote. Let Fauci repeat his 5th Amendment shtick. Many non-Trump-Hating Americans will quickly see how much @#$% Fauci was saying and doing.

During my commute, I heard the questions and a comment from one, probably R, Senator. The first question was substantive, about the decision to fund WIV (through EcoHealth Alliance). Then the Senator asked what day of the week it was. His third question was about the color of the carpet in the room. Each time, Fauci parroted his 5th Amendment shtick.

The Senator then pointed out to Fauci that because of President AutoPen's pardon. So either Fauci knew this and was flexing his inner asshole or Fauci knows that the President AutoPen pardons might not hold up in court.

Anthony Fauci will walk into a Senate hearing room Wednesday carrying a pardon that may no longer protect him.

Former Deputy Assistant Attorney General John Yoo argued Tuesday on Fox News’ “Will Cain Show” that the preemptive clemency former President Joe Biden handed Fauci covers only what the retired health official said and did before the pardon was signed.

A false statement under oath now would count as a fresh federal offense prosecutors could pursue, Yoo said. Perjury statutes turn on a knowingly false answer, so a misstep alone would not be a crime.

The pardon shields Fauci from any offense committed between Jan. 1, 2014, and the date it was issued. It also includes anything tied to his work leading the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, his task force roles, or his job advising the president, Fox News reported.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer made a similar statement, telling Fox News Digital that “Biden’s pardon doesn’t cover Dr. Fauci’s testimony this week and if he continues to lie, he must be held accountable.”

Health officials located the diaries of Dr. Anthony Fauci across nearly a dozen different servers, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said on July 27.

“It took us about eight months to dig these out of 11 separate servers, where they had been sequestered and secreted,” Kennedy said during an appearance on Fox News.

After obtaining the private entries of Fauci, who was the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) from 1984 to 2022, officials with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) handed over the documents to Sens. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.). The senators have been investigating the origins of COVID-19 and the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Paul, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, subsequently released diary entries from December 2019 through December 2022, combined into one document.

I'm not sure that 38 years of journal files being spread across 12 servers is evidence of an effort to hide. It may just be an artifact of NIH expansion and upgrading its server network, and even of fundamental computer technology. In the 1980s, the mainframe (e.g. 1BM) was king. Requester-server architecture was new and developing. That shift gained steam in the mid-late 1990s. I saw much of this progression when I was employed at Tandem Computers (not Radio Shack's parent) and Sun Microsystems.
