Tom Homan has to be one of the best picks as far as cabinet members, advisers, and staff, of President Trump's second term. Under his watch, the borders have closed, illegal immigration has slowed to a trickle, and that wasn't an easy task after the torrent of illegal entries under Joe Biden.

Mr. Homan doesn't hesitate to go head-to-head with the press, either. On Sunday, he appeared on CBS News' Meet the Press, opposite host Margaret Brennan, and when the "gotcha" questions started, Tom Homan showed he just wasn't having any of it.

Margaret Brennan: These individuals who were chasing the man who died, they didn't have markings on that vehicle that would allow for him to know that they were ICE. It just looked like a car coming after them.

Tom Homan: No. They have emergency lights, officers have insignia, so when they get out of that car and approach the car, you can clearly see they are law enforcement officers.

Margaret Brennan: Well, in the video that has been public, it's not a (inaudible).

Tom Homan: These people... I'm not saying it's a marked car. But it has emergency lights and sirens. So when they pull someone over, they activate emergency lights. A lot of police departments are... I'm in New York City right now, and a lot of NYPD officers are driving unmarked vehicles, and that helps them find people that don't want to be found. Right? So, you know, the bottom line is, we'll see how the investigation plays out, but they'd be alive today if they had simply complied with a vehicle stop by federal law enforcement. Just comply. If you don't think you've been treated right, and they had no reason to stop you, then there are avenues to take in the court.

Tom Homan: Yeah, I think body cameras are the way to go. I think body cameras let the American people know what that officer sees when he takes that action.

MSM-folk are so blinded by their Trump-Hatred that they STILL have not noticed that Trump's official come to "interviews" readily and prepared, and that when "interviewers" try gotcha-"questions", the interviewer gets better than they gave.

Well, Democrats in Maine really do have some special candidates to choose from. It took months but they finally got rid of Graham Platner after women came forward and accused him of abusive behavior and rape. Democrats finally decided that was a bad look and now they've had to rush to replace him with someone more agreeable. As of this weekend it seems clear that person is Troy Jackson.

So who is Troy Jackson? Well, as I already suggested here, he might have some problems of his own. And now that his selection is all but assured, the Washington Post has finally gotten around to reporting that he's a real jerk who doesn't get along with women.

Jackson led the state Senate with a confrontational style, at times berating colleagues who disagreed with him, former colleagues said. And his intensity often veered into behavior that people working in Maine politics at the time characterized as bullying, given that he was the most powerful Democrat in the Senate.

One person who participated in meetings with Jackson at the time said they felt “nervous” and worried to be in the room with him, because his outbursts could escalate so quickly.

“It was very aggressive,” the person said. “It’s one thing to be screaming when you’re just mad about the world or sad about the world. But his screaming felt like intentional intimidation. So you would feel like then, what else is he going to do?”

But his best known fight was with a female state senator.

Jackson and Sanborn were on opposing sides of a bill aimed at lowering prescription drug prices — Jackson supported the bill, while Sanborn argued it was unconstitutional and would be struck down by the courts. As one meeting wrapped up, Jackson grew angry with Sanborn and confronted her, said three people in the room that day and multiple people briefed on the fight. At one point, he threw a water bottle in anger.

“He was an inch from her nose, screaming and hollering and haranguing her,” said one of Jackson’s former legislative colleagues who was in the room and did not see any physical contact.

Multiple former lawmakers recalled that Sanborn left the Senate that day and did not return for several days.

Nicaragua's little dictator Daniel Ortega is 80 years old and hadn't been seen in public in months. His wife and "co-president" Rosario Murillo appeared to be handling most of their duties, while working hard to consolidate power and purging old Sandinistas who don't care for her. 

Ortega has a history of heart problems and supposedly suffers from lupus, though he's never confirmed that. There are also reports that he suffers from end-stage renal failure and is possibly on dialysis. He supposedly has his own private VIP suite at the National Police’s Carlos Roberto Huembes Hospital, where he receives regular weekly treatments.

But over the weekend, at a Sandinista Revolution 47th anniversary event, a sickly Ortega hobbled onto the stage to show everyone that he's still alive despite rumors claiming the opposite and to rally whatever sort of base he has left in a country that is heavily repressed and oppressed. He didn't look well, but that was overshadowed by what he announced: There will be no more elections in Nicaragua, and he will ensure that opposition parties can't even attempt to hold them.

Cricket-chirping is what I'd expect from yesteryear's Democrats. I expect full-throated endorsement of such behavior from the likes of the up-and-coming "Democratic Socialists".
