Bar complaint targets Biden DOJ prosecutor's license for 'illegal conduct' in weaponization report

A progressive watchdog launched a similar effort last week against acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, alleging systemic ethics violations in his prosecution of an alleged MS-13 gang member that should cost Blanche his New York law license.

Now a conservative group is seeking to flip the script, asking New York to disbar an architect of the Biden administration's scheme to prosecute allegedly peaceful pro-life activists under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances, in the wake of the Supreme Court's elimination of federal abortion rights.

Democracy Restored shared its ethics complaint against former Civil Rights Division trial attorney Sanjay Patel exclusively with Just the News before filing it Monday with the Attorney Grievance Committee for the Third Judicial Department, claiming Patel "put his politics above his oath" in his relations with abortion rights groups.

The complaint is largely based on documents revealed in April by the Justice Department's Weaponization Working Group, which suggest Patel deputized abortion rights groups to surveil their collective enemies in the pro-life movement, shared internal information with abortion lobbyists and even helped them with grant applications.

The Weaponization Working Group report exposed the prior administration's "unequal application of justice" under the FACE Act, said Democracy Restored Director Houston Keene. The law also protects houses of worship from disruptions, such as the anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement invasion of Minnesota's Cities Church.

It shows "(Sanjay) Patel was a key player in this malfeasance and calls into question his ability to hold a law license," with his record of "targeted and unconstitutional attacks" on pro-life advocates, said Keene, a former Fox News journalist and Capitol Hill aide.

A Muslim was murdered outside an Eid service in Minneapolis last week, and initially, it was a story made to order for the left’s victimhood industry. It even seemed to be a genuine example of “Islamophobia,” which is as rare in real life as Nancy Pelosi stock losses. The far left’s propaganda arm, also known as the mainstream media, swung into action, and leftist politicians chimed in with the requisite displays of outrage and sorrow.

CrimeWatchMpls reported on X on May 27 that “A shooting took place in the parking lot at Canterbury Park, a Muslim event was scheduled to take place in the Expo Center at Canterbury.” Even though nothing had yet been revealed about the shooter, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Planned Parenthood), who is running for governor of Minnesota, hurried that evening to imply that the shooting was an instance of “Islamophobia”: “On this Eid al-Adha, I’m thinking of Minnesota’s Muslim community and all those gathered in prayer today, especially following today’s tragic shooting at an Eid prayer service at Canterbury Park. My thoughts are with the victim's family and the entire community.”

CBS Minnesota published a story on May 28 that ran hard with the “Islamophobia” angle. In its lead paragraph, CBS highlighted the identity of the victim and the setting of the crime: “A suspect is in custody in connection to Wednesday morning's shooting outside of a Twin Cities Eid al-Adha prayer service, which killed 26-year-old union leader Khalid Ibrahim Abdi.”

Driving its point home, CBS brought in Suleiman Adan, deputy executive director of the Minnesota chapter of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). What Adan said — “This is not just a headline for another story across people's timelines, this is a family waking up to a reality no family should ever have to" — was innocuous enough, but just the fact that CAIR was invoked gave the strong impression that the murderer of Khalid Ibrahim Abdi was a racist, bigoted “Islamophobe.”

And then the whole house of cards came crashing down. On Monday, CBS had to report the truth: “A Shakopee, Minnesota, man is accused of shooting and killing 26-year-old Khalid Ibrahim Abdi outside of a Twin Cities Eid al-Adha prayer service on Wednesday. Mohamed Rage, 28, is facing one count of second-degree murder as well as an illegal weapons charge, according to the criminal complaint filed in Scott County on Monday.”

Trump Puts Up Revolutionary War Statues in D.C. Leftist Protest Hotspot, Including Forgotten Founder

The Trump administration has transformed a D.C. plaza known as a hotspot of leftist protests into a forum for celebrating one of the too-often-forgotten Founding Fathers and Revolutionary War soldiers.

Freedom Plaza received its current name in 1988 as a tribute to civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. While MLK was personally corrupt, his cause was an excellent and laudable one. That cannot be said of many of the activists who followed in more recent years and transformed the plaza into a scene of chaos and lawlessness to support far-left causes — especially the BLM rioters in 2020.

Not too long ago, activists were screaming their support for serial criminal George Floyd in the plaza. Now, heading into America’s 250th birthday, Freedom Plaza features 13 statues honoring our founding. The number 13 seems to be a tribute to the original 13 colonies. “This exhibition featuring Caesar Rodney and the 12 Soldiers of the Revolutionary War is a powerful tribute to the patriots whose service and sacrifice helped secure the freedoms we enjoy today," Department of the Interior (DOI) Secretary Doug Burgum told Fox News.

You might remember that the Continental Congress actually voted for independence on July 2, though they did not agree on the exact draft for their declaration until July 4, which is why that is considered our national birthday. But on July 1, it seemed as if independence might not happen at all. The independence coalition, which included John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin, needed Delaware's vote, and when it came to the proposal from Virginian Richard Henry Lee that “these united colonies are, and of right ought to be free and independent states,” the two Delaware delegates in Philadelphia at the time (Thomas McKean and George Read) disagreed with each other.

Rodney, who was a militia colonel as well as a delegate to Congress, was in Delaware when he found out about the situation in Philadelphia. Despite suffering from more than one medical condition at the time, Rodney mounted a horse and rode for 18 hours straight through the night and miserably rainy weather so he would arrive in Philadelphia in time to break his state delegation’s deadlock and vote for independence. The statue in Freedom Plaza shows Rodney on horseback as he made his history-shaping gallop.
