Judge Eleanor Ross, who serves on the federal bench in Atlanta, engaged in multiple acts of misconduct. She carried on a secret affair with an Atlanta police department officer for nearly two years, repeatedly had loud sex in her chambers, lied about her trysts, and obstructed the investigation. Each of these actions warranted a public reprimand and an impeachment inquiry. But one of the more stunning allegations has flown under the radar: Judge Ross routinely signs judicial orders her law clerks prepare without even reading them. Indeed, it seems she never even talks about these cases with her clerks, so likely has no clue what she is even approving. Yet the council that reviewed this case found no misconduct.

Let me tell you a not-so-well-kept secret: most judges let their law clerks do far too much. Take it from my personal experience. I clerked in a federal district court for two years immediately after law school. The judge I clerked for, who recently passed away, was a dedicated jurist and an honorable man, but he let his clerks have far too much autonomy. At the time, I was overwhelmed with how many important decisions turned on my immature judgment. In hindsight, I cringe at my mistakes that the judge did not catch. Judge Ross will likely lose her judgeship, either through resignation or impeachment. But the public needs to take a closer look at judges who have abdicated the judicial power to unknown law clerks.

In contrast with the criminal docket, Judge Ross had no oversight of the civil docket. All six clerks reported that Judge Ross "did not indicate to the clerk how the judge was inclined to rule on the motion or otherwise provide any direction." Moreover, "it was generally understood that" Judge Ross "did not wish to discuss substantive civil-case related issues with clerks." I suppose her time was better spent having loud sex in chambers.

To be clear, the Judge didn't talk to her clerks about cases before they were assigned, and didn't want to talk to the clerk while the cases were being considered. Worse still, it appears that the judge rubber-stamped virtually every civil order that came before her. The clerks relayed that Judge Ross "rarely, if ever, substantively edited civil orders the clerks drafted." Indeed, the clerks were "generally unaware as to whether the Subject Judge reviewed pleadings or draft civil orders." As proof, a law clerk "stated that on multiple occasions the judge emailed the clerk to docket an order within a few minutes of receiving it, indicating that the judge may not have had time to read it."

Boinking in-chambers ... undisclosed, with a police officer ... not doing work on civil cases ... . Her liaisons with the police officer alone should disqualify her from all Atlanta criminal cases!

Author of U.N. Report That Placed Israel on a 'Sexual Violence' Blacklist Just Made a Shocking Admission

We all know the U.N. is useless. Run by corrupt bureaucrats, the U.N. places some of the world's worst human rights abusers on the Human Rights Council. It also put Iran on its Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) along with other places where women are treated poorly, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, India, China, Nigeria, Mali, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, and Morocco.

While they do that, they also hate on Israel and do everything they can to delegitimize, attack, and foment more global hatred toward the Jewish state. This includes putting Israel on a 'sexual violence blacklist.'

But now the author of the report that placed Israel on that list has made a stunning admission: she never looked at any of the evidence.

"It's not the responsibility of my office to do any verification," said Pramila Patten, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict.

Patten was asked if she had any access to the evidence mentioned in the report.

"I don't have to access," Patten replied. "I mean, the information is verified with a very robust methodology of verification and documentation. I am a recipient, I compile that information, and I present it to the Secretary-General."

"Right, I just wondered if you'd viewed it with your own eyes?" the reporter asked.

"No, because this is not my job," Patten said. ...

The article does not mention who questioned her ... probably not a Muslim nation ... and almost as unlikely to have been a European nation, because JOOOOooooooos.

Yeah, About That 'Hunger Strike' at Delaney Hall

The duel outside Delaney Hall in Newark, New Jersey, descended into chaos. It was a riot. We saw reporters assaulted, their phones stolen, and overall chaos. Eventually, the state police were called, but the anti-ICE movement must be shut down, which goes without saying, even though they can hold out for weeks. Independent reporters, like Nick Sortor, managed to get inside one of their tents: it’s stocked with plenty of supplies, again raising questions about who’s funding this circus.

As the anti-ICE crusade ramps up outside, some detainees inside—which include what some call the scum of the Earth—were reportedly on a hunger strike. However, Jennie Taer from The Daily Wire revealed that it was all nonsense, as they’re eating chips and honey buns inside. The supposed strike was over visitation rights:

he Delaney Hall detainees engaging in a purported “hunger strike” are opting to not eat their regular meals while going to the commissary to purchase snacks instead, according to a source familiar with the situation. Meanwhile, activist groups are claiming that detainees are being fed spoiled food and meals contaminated with worms.

So-called hunger strikes like the one playing out at Delaney Hall are all too common in ICE detention centers and the playbook is usually the same, former ICE New York field office deputy director Scott Mechkowski told The Daily Wire.

“I’ve seen real hunger strikes during my time as an ICE official, managing detention facilities. What’s happening at Delaney Hall is not a hunger strike,” Mechkowski said.

“When detainees are buying up Honey Buns and Snickers bars, and those with money are helping others get snacks, that’s not a hunger strike, it’s just a publicity stunt,” he added.

The "hunger strike" is fauxny? As are the other grievances? Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!

Doctors Celebrate Breakthrough Cancer Treatment with Standing Ovation

... This weekend a large group of oncologists, doctors who specialize in the treatment of cancer, met to show off their latest breakthroughs at a conference called ASCO26. The news from this conference is so good that it brought standing ovations from the assembled doctors.

The big breakthrough that everyone is excited about involves pancreatic cancer which has long been a death sentence for many people. For instance, cartoonist Scott Adams died from metastatic prostrate cancer earlier this year. But a new drug called daraxonrasib seems to dramatically extend the life of those treated with it. The NY Times wrote about it last month.

A drug nearing regulatory approval, daraxonrasib, is the first to substantially extend the lives of patients with pancreatic cancer. It works by targeting a cellular protein that fuels not just nearly all pancreatic tumors, but also many lung and colon cancers. Those three are the leading causes of cancer deaths.

The drug that opened the floodgates, daraxonrasib, has been fast-tracked for review by the Food and Drug Administration and could win approval later this year. Until then, the agency has signed off on a plan by Revolution Medicines, the small Silicon Valley company developing the drug, to offer early access to some patients.

The pills, three taken daily, are not a cure — eventually, daraxonrasib stops working. Many patients do not respond. And it has side effects that can be harsh, including rash, diarrhea, fatigue, nausea and raw, split fingertips.

Again, it's not a cure, but a cancer that was considered unbeatable has been shown to have a weakness. The drug works by turning off the gene that causes the disease to run rampant.

The current survival rate for pancreatic cancer is about 1 in 8. This drug sounds like it slows the progression rather than bringing remission so it won't necessarily change that. It may, however, extend some people's lives so they may be around to benefit from future progress.

Student senate at NYC university votes to strip funding and recognition from Hillel

The student senate at The New School voted to strip funding and recognition from the university’s Hillel chapter, accusing the Jewish student organization of ties to alleged violations of international law.

The New York City university later rejected the vote, stating that the student senate does not have authority over the recognition, funding eligibility, or official status of registered student organizations.

The University Student Senate voted Friday to designate Hillel as “not in good standing,” making the group ineligible for funding or collaboration with the senate.

The vote centered on Hillel’s connections to Israel-related programming, including student trips to Israel and volunteer opportunities connected to the Israel Defense Forces.

“To continue to fund Hillel at The New School would mean that your student fees would be used to support violations of international law,” the senate statement said. The report also cited Hillel’s promotion of Birthright Israel trips and other Israel-related programs.

The New School administration rejected the senate’s action, stating that Hillel remains in good standing and eligible for funding.

“The New School’s University Student Senate does not have the authority to determine the recognition, funding eligibility, or official status of registered student organizations,” a university spokesperson said, according to The Times of Israel.
