Texas Scores Major Legal Win on Deportation Enforcement

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/josephchalfant/2026/05/31/texas-scores-major-legal-win-on-deportation-enforcement-n2676962

A new decision from the Fifth Circuit Court has opened the door for the state of Texas to begin conducting their own immigration enforcement.

Senate Bill 4 had made it a state-level crime to enter Texas illegally. It further prohibited state and local agencies from refusing to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement, and required magistrates to pursue criminal prosecutions for violators even if the perpetrator had an outstanding federal immigration case. Above all, it allows the state judiciary to carry out deportations independent of the federal government.

In May, a district court blocked several key provisions of the law from going into effect, notably the ability for the state to issue its own orders of removal and the criminality for refusing to comply with such removal orders. That decision was reversed by the latest.

Well, when the Federal government refuses to do its duty (i.e. when Dems are President) ...

Dem lawmakers gripe about the 'economic violence' of not being paid to stay home from work when menstruating

Democratic lawmakers complained in late May about employers not providing paid leave for painful menstruation cycles, calling it "economic violence."

"Forcing a worker to choose between paying her rent or losing a day's pay to recover from a grueling gynecological procedure is not a choice. It’s economic violence," Rep. Adelita Grijalva, D-Ariz., said during a press conference on May 21.

Grijalva was joined by Reps. Yassamin Ansari, D-Ariz., and Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., who are backing Ansari's Reproductive Healthcare Leave Act, which is a part of her "H.E.R." (Healthy, Equity, Rights) Agenda.

So, women who say they want equal rights actually want special "rights"?

America’s next economic powerhouse may be rising in red-state territory

DALLAS — Texas has emerged as the biggest winner in corporate America’s flight from high-tax blue states, attracting a wave of headquarters relocations as companies increasingly abandon costly coastal hubs for lower-tax Republican strongholds.

The relocation wave is reshaping the balance of economic power in America, boosting red-state economies while raising fresh questions about whether high taxes and regulation are driving companies out of blue-state strongholds.

Dallas-Fort Worth led the nation with 111 headquarters relocations between 2018 and 2025, according to a CBRE report, while Austin added 88 and Houston gained 31. Together, the three Texas hubs have became one of the nation’s biggest magnets for corporate relocations.
...
Meanwhile, California suffered the nation’s steepest corporate losses.

The San Francisco Bay Area posted a net loss of 163 headquarters during the same period Texas posted gains. Companies leaving California frequently cited taxes, labor rules and soaring living costs as reasons for relocating elsewhere, CBRE found.

My most recent job change, almost a decade ago, was due to my division being transferred out of the SF bay area due to extreme housing costs ... the company was not able to recruit college grads.

New Jersey Governor: Outside Agitators Are Fueling ICE Protest Violence

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill said Saturday that people are coming from out of state to protest at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Newark and creating a dangerous situation.

“We know that people from outside of the state have been interfering in the protests and escalating them,” Sherrill said at a press conference. “Five of the six people arrested last night by state police were from outside New Jersey.”

Masked individuals attacked the barrier in the protest area and took “aggressive and dangerous actions” against the Newark police and state police, Sherrill said in a post on X on Sunday.

The protesters threw projectiles at police and used the barriers as weapons and lit tires on fire in the streets, the governor said.

Sherrill said that “some national extremist groups” have become involved in the protests.

The facts became too blatantly obvious, so it's belated CYA time.
