When I saw that E. Jean Carroll, the woman who accused Donald Trump of raping her, was being investigated, I didn't think much of it.

Sure, she pretty clearly lied, and the entire case was a total setup. Democrats love to believe the worst of Republicans and jump on any real or fantastical accusations of bad behavior by Republicans, so perhaps many of them believed her ridiculous story that was based on—I kid you not—copying the plot of an episode of Law and Order: SVU. But then again, Democrats swallowed the accusations against Clarence Thomas and Brett Kavanaugh...

But any objective person who looked into the case could tell it was a setup.

Still, I assumed that the investigation was based on a stretch, until I read that the woman who admitted that she thought that rape is "sexy" committed provable perjury.

I didn't know that, partly because the case was so transparently a political hit job, and I didn't bother spending much time investigating the case or Carroll. While I knew the case was a hoax, I suspected that it would have much less political impact than the Democrats supposed.

The investigation is focused on whether Carroll committed perjury in testimony tied to her two civil lawsuits against the president – one alleging he sexually abused Carroll in a New York department store in the mid-1990s, and a second for defaming her when in 2019 he repeatedly denied the assault, said she wasn’t his type and claimed she made it up to boost sales of a book.

Prosecutors’ theory hinges on a 2022 deposition statement by Carroll, 82, that she received no outside funding for her lawsuit, though it was later revealed that billionaire Reid Hoffman had paid some legal fees and expenses.

Trump has one appeal to the USSC pending, and another working its way up the appeals process, so  proving EJC committed perjury might work in her disfavor.

I'm sure DUpipo are birthing hissing yowling devil-kittens over this investigation. Because Trump is too eeeeee-vile to have the right to a fair trial.

(Katie) BLACKWELL’S FOLLY

Brian O’Hara as resigned as chief of the Minneapolis Police Department in disgrace. Katie Blackwell, formerly assistant chief of operations, is now the acting chief. I was seving as a member of the board of Alpha News at the time that Blackwell sued Alpha News and Liz Collin as a result of her brief appearance in the film The Fall of Minneapolis (produced by Liz Collin).

Based on her appearance in the film and in the related book by Liz, Blackwell brought an ill-advised defamation lawsuit against Liz and Alpha News. I called the lawsuit Blackwell’s folly.

Jenna Gloeb now takes a look back in the current Alpha News story “14 officers signed sworn declarations saying new Minneapolis chief committed perjury during Chauvin trial.” Alpha News asked the Minnesota POST Board — whose members are appointed by Gov. Tim Walz — why it hasn’t taken any action against Blackwell, but received no response.

Blackwell testified for the state in the prosecution of Derek Chauvin for murder in the case arising from George Floyd’s death. Liz’s book and film impugn the accuracy of Blackwell’s testimony at the Chauvin murder trial. In her testimony Blackwell asserted that the knee-on-neck restraint Chauvin used on Floyd was not trained by the department. The documentary is accessible for free at the link above. The testimony in issue appears in the video at 1:00:03-1:00:32.

Minneapolis attorney Chris Madel represented the defendants Blackwell has sued. We asserted every applicable defense including truth and the First Amendment. Judge Wahl granted defendants’ motion to dismiss the case. I have embedded his scrupulous 58-page order below. It was a good day for independent journalism in Minnesota and a bad day for the Minneapolis Police Department. At the end of the day, as they say, Blackwell agreed to resolve her exploding cigar of a lawsuit by paying attorneys’ fees of $75,000.

It was dismissed without trial because Alpha News, et al, proved what they had reported was true. Perjurer Katie Blackwell is now acting Police Chief of Minneapolis.

The federal investigation into staff at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency—the U.N. Gaza relief organization that's been closely linked to Hamas—will soon encompass at least 1,500 UNRWA-linked individuals suspected of terror ties. This unprecedented dragnet—reported here for the first time by the Washington Free Beacon—exposes an aid group brimming with Hamas operatives, and is generating momentum in Congress and the Trump administration for harsher sanctions on the embattled aid group, according to congressional staffers briefed on the matter.

The punitive measures up for consideration include stripping UNRWA of its diplomatic immunity under U.S. law, which would open it up to legal action from terror victims, and fully designating the aid organization as a foreign terrorist organization, according to three Trump administration officials and other sources tracking the matter in Congress.

These discussions have accelerated since the Free Beacon first reported in April that UNRWA and other U.N. agencies are stonewalling a federal probe into their ties to Hamas. The probe will soon expand to at least 1,500 suspected militants with UNRWA ties.

UNRWA, an official organ of the notoriously anti-Israel United Nations, is the only aid group with a large operation in Gaza, with as many as 13,000 Gazan employees and a large distribution network. U.N. officials have insisted for years that it is the only viable option for getting relief to Gazans. But Israel and its supporters have long claimed that UNRWA is fully infiltrated by Hamas and has cemented the terror group's control over aid distribution.

You Love to See It: DOJ Digs Into E. Jean Carroll's Possible Perjury

After Donald Trump’s first term as president, during the egregious collective regime of “President” Joe Biden, the left’s legal brigades launched an unprecedented lawfare attack on their political target. In New York City, the prevailing tactic was to attack on the civil side. The reason for this was that the standard of proof is so much lower in a civil trial that victory was assured in a town with judges and juries as leftist as NYC’s.

Then there was the E. Jean Carroll rape fantasy (in my opinion — don't sue me!) involving Trump. In 2019, Carroll released a memoir for some reason, even though I can't say I'd ever heard of her before then. In it, she accused Trump of unleashing his unbridled lust on her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in either 1995 or 1996. Recall that at that time, Trump was a hugely popular celebrity tycoon in NYC, so it's conceivable that a grasping nobody might fixate on him — especially an admitted rape fantasist like Carroll.

To publicize her otherwise completely unnoteworthy book, Carroll repeated her Trump fantasy claim in an excerpt in New York magazine. Trump said it never happened and that Carroll was a liar. She sued him for defamation, a suit that got a huge boost a couple years later when the state and a major donor stepped in to push validation of her underlying rape and assault claims.

Recall that New York State deliberately suspended the statute of limitations for one year via New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which was conveniently active from Nov. 24, 2022, to Nov. 24, 2023. Carroll filed her suit within minutes of New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D, natch) signing the Act into law. Why, it's almost as if the whole thing was choreographed!

Recall also that LinkedIn co-founder and Democrat megadonor Reid Hoffman pumped $7 million into the legal venture via his American Future Republic nonprofit, which gave the payola to Carroll's attorney, Roberta Kaplan, for fees and expenses.

When the weaponized prosecution dust had settled, Trump had been found liable for unwanted kissing and digital violation but not rape, and for defamation, for calling Carroll a liar. Judgments against him totaled $83.3 million, because that's a totally realistic assessment of how much money Carroll would have made, had Trump not defamed her.

Trump is now forced to appeal an otherwise mundane harassment case all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court to get a fair hearing. But meanwhile, there is a spicy new development.

CNN is reporting (much to its chagrin, no doubt) that the DOJ is investigating whether Carroll lied under oath — perjured herself — during her quest to take down Orange Man Bad:

The crux of the case looks like this:

Senior leaders at the Justice Department referred the investigation to federal prosecutors in Chicago, according to two sources familiar with the matter. While Carroll’s deposition took place in New York, one of the individuals who helped cover some of Carroll’s legal fees, Hoffman, has a nonprofit based in Chicago.

Hoffman’s support of the case caught Trump’s attorneys off guard when it came to light on the eve of trial.

In a 2022 videotaped deposition, Carroll told then-Trump attorney Alina Habba that no one else was paying for her legal fees. But two weeks before the trial Carroll’s attorneys informed the judge and Trump’s lawyers that they secured funding from Hoffman’s nonprofit.

Carroll’s lawyers said she never met nor had conversations with anyone associated with the nonprofit. Habba said in court at the time that Carroll’s team “conspired to conceal the truth for nearly six months.”

When the trial began two weeks later Judge Lewis Kaplan said he saw no issue with Carroll’s credibility and blocked the lawyers from asking about Hoffman’s funding.

Vance said, “We referred over $22 billion in fraudulent small business loans back to the Treasury for collection. We deferred more than $1.3 billion in fraudulent Medicaid reimbursements that were coming from various states, particularly California.”

He continued, “We put a six-month hold on enrollments for new hospice and home healthcare providers because so many of the newer hospice providers were not actually providing hospice services, but were just focused on fraud. So we're gonna cut that out for a little bit and try to get to a place where we can actually certify that the people providing hospice services are actually providing those very necessary and important services.”

The administration also recovered “taxpayer funds from the $135 billion stolen after the flood gates were opened in the immediate aftermath of COVID. We have found $6.3 billion in suspected fraudulent government contracts, which were mostly awarded during the last administration, and that has stopped,” Vance confirmed. “And finally, we blocked $60 million in student fraud that should have gone to young people trying to get an education, but instead were going to fraudsters.”

It's happened again. The life of a conservative Supreme Court Justice was reportedly threatened Wednesday night after the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) in Washington, D.C., received reports of gunfire at the home of Amy Coney Barrett.

DC-based independent journalist Andrew Leyden first reported that trouble was brewing at Barrett's residence just before 10 p.m. ET; Leyden did not identify which Justice was involved, but revealed it was determined to be a "swatting incident."

Luckily, Leyden reported, the MPD knew a VIP lived at the address, so an abundance of caution was apparently used when responding.

The independent journalist, who eventually identified Barrett as the target, was able to get his hands on part of the police dispatch recording from Wednesday night, which showed initial reports of gunfire at a residence that was deemed an "LOI," or "location of interest," and that there was 24-hour security at the house. Police reportedly met with the security detail and were able to determine it was a hoax call.

ATexas man was arrested Thursday for allegedly making death and bombing threats toward Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk and her organization at an upcoming summit in San Antonio.

26-year-old Jacob Wenske is charged with two third-degree felony counts of making a terroristic threat involving public fear of serious bodily injury or public disruption, Fox News reported.

Court documents alleged that Wenske replied to a Facebook post in April about the summit that he knows "where to bomb," and he said in another comment that he "can't wait to be the valet for [Kirk's] escort," according to KSAT.

The comments were in response to the Turning Point USA’s Women’s Leadership Summit, which will take place June 5-7 at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter on the River Walk.

“Death to Erika Kirk and every single speaker there!" Wenske allegedly wrote in an email. "America will live on without those scum on this earth. Every Christian nationalist shall perish in the bombing that will take place at every single Turning Point rally and event."

The bloodbath is slated for June, a source with knowledge said. That’s after CBS News last month slashed 6% of its workforce — between 60 and 70 people — including the surprise shuttering of its 99-year-old radio division.

Insiders said the March layoffs were preceded by buyout offers at “CBS Evening News” that began hitting inboxes in late January, sparking chatter in the halls inside CBS News that the ritual will restart in the coming weeks — including at “60 Minutes.”

“They’re doing another round in June, and ’60 Minutes’ people are on the list,” an insider said.

Jill Biden Is Flat Out Lying (Update)

Yesterday she gave an interview to CBS Sunday Morning which will air this coming Sunday. In that interview, a snippet of which has been released, she was asked about the moment that ended Biden's career. I think we all remember that moment from the first debate so I won't post it here but after showing a clip of it, CBS' Rita Braver asked Jill Biden what she was thinking at that moment.

"I was frightened, because I had never ever seen Joe like that before or since. Never," Jill Biden told CBS News Sunday Morning's Rita Braver in an interview airing Sunday on CBS.

"I don't know what happened," she said. "As I watched it, I thought, 'Oh, my God, he's having a stroke.' And it scared me to death."

To put it bluntly, every bit of this is a lie.

Oh, I'm sure she was shocked at Biden's terrible performance that night but it wasn't the same shock many people had because she had seen it before many, many times. In fact, anyone who had been paying close attention in 2024 had seen it many times by that point. So it's not remotely credible that she hadn't seen it before or since. Why is she trying to revive this lie?

Let's just start with the obvious fact that moments after the debate ended, Jill Biden was out there spinning it as a win for her husband. If she really thought he was having a medical issue of some kind, she got over it really fast. Even CNN's Abby Philips can see the problem.
