I ran into a guy on his first day out of the penitentiary.

I stopped for lunch at a local chain convenience store reason why I forgot my lunch. And next to me was this fellow with his daughter helping him order food on the touch screen.
Guy was totally lost in how to order anyway i sat down and they sat down at a table next to me to eat. Now we didn’t talk at all just earlier standing at kiosk ordering we exchanged hello’s.
Yet I heard this man and his daughter conversations and his daughter said it’s been a long coming waiting for this day for you.
Thirty years waiting for you to come home dad i heard her say.
Don’t know what this guy did reason he did such along time. Yet I was happy for him and his daughter yesterday in what I heard in their conversation.

I think this was just some weird truck stop hookup and you're making up the story.

Since DUers lie so much it is difficult to believe that it did happen. Thirty years is a long sentence. Things were a bit different back then so it could be something terrible.

In today's world, however, if he'd just been sentenced to thirty years in a blue district full of lefty judges, it could be anything from defending himself from a physical attack by a lefty approved "oppressed" individual or telling someone that he doesn't agree with murdering unborn babies. Lefty land is a sad place.

For new members and lurkers: I am a fictional spirit-guide with no smell whatsoever. I am part irish setter and part pigeon. If you don't smell any strange smells it means I'm probably standing next to you. As I am a fictional character anything I post should possibly be considered fictional.

Oh, Dunc is the old drunk TEB. About a year ago, he got yet another DUI - that could be his "inspiration" for this story:
