So that 1960s mass shooting in Texas didn't happen? Nor the gang killings in the 1920s? To the degree there's an increase, it's in reporting and in reporting-with-agenda.
BUT IRL, gun ownership has been widespread in the US since July 4, 1776, and in the colonies before that. And while there was no NRA back then, the NRA has been around much longer than I have, probably well over a century.
What has changed in the US is people.
Increasingly: people reject or ignore the idea that there is a Being Who created them and to Whom they are answerable; people reject that there are moral absolutes; people see killing as OK if one can sufficiently dehumanize their target (blob of tissue, Hitlerian, racist, cis-______, patriarchy ... ). Whatever the RI shooter's dehumanizer, the problem was him, not his rationalization nor a mixed hunk of steel, polymer, lead, and brass.

I ASSume this was supposed to be scarcasm, but IRL, the Trump Administration is backing efforts to keep male-posers out of girls'/women's sports. So I won't say that cannot be correct.
In early 2020, Dorgan went to the North Providence Police Department and reported he had recently undergone gender-reassignment surgery and that his father-in-law wanted him out of their North Providence home because of it.

Under grounds for divorce, Rhonda initially wrote, “gender reassignment surgery, narcissistic + personality disorder traits.” Those reasons were then crossed out and replaced with “irreconcilable differences which have caused the immediate breakdown of the marriage.”
He was married but had a dickectomy and thought he was a woman? Gee, I wonder why wifey was less than supportive.
He was living with his inlaw(s)? Not exactly stable and provident.
Rhonda wrote the full truth when filing for divorce. I wonder whether some PC-bureaucrat made the "correction" or a bureaucrat "persuaded" her to make the correction.

Apparently the father had well known mental health issues, and strife with his family.
And somehow - he was allowed to have guns.
Intentionally accurate? Or slipped up?
