FBI arrests suspect in DC pipe bomb case after 5-year investigation

A suspect who allegedly planted pipe bombs blocks from the U.S. Capitol on January 5, 2021, is now in federal custody after a nearly five-year investigation, law enforcement sources told Fox News Digital on Thursday.

The FBI arrested the suspect, a male living in Virginia, early Thursday morning, the sources said.

Authorities discovered the two pipe bombs near the Republican and Democratic National Committees' headquarters around the same time that thousands of protesters a few blocks away began to descend on the Capitol over the 2020 election results.

Video footage released by the FBI showed an unidentified person placing the pipe bombs near the two headquarters more than 16 hours before law enforcement found them.

The suspect was seen wearing a gray hoodie, Nike Air Max Speed Turf sneakers, a face mask, glasses, and gloves, but the person's identity had long been unknown.

Point taken, as this story will likely go nowhere. Even with decent folks such as Patel at FBI and Ratcliffe at CIA, there is still a massive internal coverup. Heard this news as I was settling down at my desk about 7:50 am, and Fox News was the only decent website reporting the story as of that time.

It took nearly five years – and a change in administration – to solve this mystery from the January 6 chaos following the 2020 election. The mystery has endured ever since about the identity of the person who placed pipe bombs outside the headquarters of both major parties during the night of January 5, 2021. This morning, the New York Times reports that the FBI has finally made an arrest in the terrorism case, but has yet to name its suspect:

Update:  NBC News has identified the suspect as Brian Cole:

Brian Cole was identified as the suspect in custody, according to two senior law enforcement officials briefed on the matter. The arrest marks a breakthrough in a case that has stymied investigators for nearly five years.

Since the $500K reward was offered, without results, several years ago (2021?), it is only casually related to this arrest. So the question remains, why did 4 years of LIEden MalAdministration "investigation" produce zero, zip, and nada, but 10 months into Trump's Administration, suddenly produced an arrest? I'm not saying there cannot be a reasonable explanation, only that the timing contrast looks suggestive.

As for Brian Cole, I don't much care whether he was a false-flagger trying to make Trump supporters look bad or an actual Trump supporter trying to divert some police resources (without knowing that Trump had offered Pelosiroo National Guard protection for the Capitol ... protection she declined).
