Doing business in countries that President Trump despises does not equal being a puppet of such country. The money is green, no matter where which despot regime it arises from.

It never ceases to amaze me that lefties who have no business experience claim that Trump heaps praise on Putin, Kim Jon Un, Xijing Ping, etc., is a negotiating tactic. You soften up the assholes by praising them, and them beat them at the marketplace.
