Sometimes they don't seem like cops as much as they are regular criminals who went to the academy with the intent of working an angle.
I used to travel with my job a lot. Many, many miles of driving. 75,000 a year was a pretty good average. I traveled around building community water tanks.
I drive fast and always have. I used to get pulled over 10-15 times a year. Most of the time I was let off with a warning, but I got tickets too and the high insurance premiums that went with those tickets. I had tickets from a mulititude of states and it was before computers.
In all those times of being pulled over I only ran into 3 cops who were complete assholes. Not a bad average. One of those cops was the worst person I think I'd ever had the privilege to meet and I almost went to jail because I was going to whip his ass in the street. That's a long story for a cold beer session.
