McCain Accuses Obama of Exploiting Financial Turmoil

John McCain accused Barack Obama of exploiting the turmoil on Wall Street to enhance his political future Tuesday, hitting back after Obama suggested McCain was divorced from the latest economic unrest.

“Senator Obama saw an economic crisis and he’s found a political opportunity,” McCain said to a crowd in Vienna, Ohio, alongside his running mate Sarah Palin. “My friends, this is not a time for political opportunism. This is a time for leadership.

“Let’s have straight talk. Senator Obama is not interested in the politics of hope. He is interested in his political future, and that is why he is hurling insults and making up facts about his record,” he said.

.
McCain and Palin both taunted Obama as out of touch, with McCain wagging his finger at his rival for hosting a pricey fundraiser with Barbra Streisand in Beverly Hills Tuesday night.

“He talks about siding with the people … just before he flew off to Hollywood for a fundraiser with Barbra Streisand and his celebrity friends,” McCain said. “Let me tell you, my friends, there is no place I’d rather be than here with the working men and women win of Ohio.”

My fellow Americans, there is nothing audacious about hope. Hope is what makes people buy lottery tickets instead of paying the bills. Hope is for the old gals feeding the slots in Atlantic City. It destroys the inner-city kid who quits school because he hopes he'll be a world-famous recording artist.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?

One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.

The other kills her own food.

Candy Crowley confirms it

I'll bet that the crusading Obamamessiah would have had a much better chance at stopping the "greatest financial crisis since the great depression" if his ass stayed in the senate for more more than three months before he disappeared for the rest of his term while he ran for president.

Today, he claimed that the Congressional stimulus package was his idea.  That’s news to those of us in Congress who supported it.  Senator Obama didn’t even show up to vote.  He talks a tough game on the financial crisis, but the facts tell a different story.  Senator Obama took more money from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac than anyone but the chairman of the committee they answer to.  And he put Fannie Mae’s CEO, who helped create this problem in charge of finding his Vice President.  That’s not change, that’s what’s broken in Washington.  He talked about siding with the people, siding with the people, just before he flew off to Hollywood for a fundraiser with Barbra Streisand and his celebrity friends.  Let me tell you, my friends, there is no place I’d rather be, than here, with the working men and women of Ohio.  I’m going to fight for you and together we’re going to win in November.

Knocked it out of the park with that one!

Of course I don't see that comment getting a lot of play in the media *eyeroll*
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

Spread my work ethic, not my wealth.

Forget change, bring back common sense.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle
