EVs and fire insurance

People were told buying these things were just like buying any other car. Yet, somehow, hidden issues keep popping up.

Los Angeles: landlord's fire insurance policy has been frozen because of my car charger

Location: Los Angeles, California

Looking for insight so I can be prepared for a conversation with my landlord tomorrow.

My landlord's fire insurance inspection happened recently and he just called me to tell me that they are freezing his policy because they objected to my level 1 EV charging cable which I have running out of my 2nd floor window down to the car. Landlord is coming by tomorrow to discuss with me and his insurance agent (I think, I'm not super clear on who is coming or what there is to discuss). Hopefully this is all fine and the freeze is temporary. LL was calm and nice on the call so... fingers crossed. But I am reaching out to you all to see whether I'm in danger of being sued or evicted here. And if so, what are things I should or shouldn't say tomorrow.

Addl context: LL has been super nervous about these inspections, lots of people are losing fire insurance for obvious reasons. He asked me to move flower pots and other stuff I had outside in preparation, which I did. He asked me to remove the charger when it wasn't in use, which I didn't do bc the way I had it rigged it was a PITA to take up and down.

Skimmed my lease, nothing explicit about EV charging or things hanging out of windows

Relationship with LL is good, I'm a good tenant, he's a nice dude. Again, hoping for the best and preparing for the worst

According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."
