Children in Servitude, the Poorest of Haiti’s Poor
Advertisements [?]GONAÏVES, Haiti — Thousands of desperate women pushed and shoved to get at the relief food being handed out on the outskirts of this flooded city last week. Off to the side were the restaveks, the really desperate ones.

As woman after woman hauled off a sack of rice, a bag of beans and a can of cooking oil, the restaveks, a Creole term used to describe Haiti’s child laborers, dropped to their knees to pick up the bits that were inadvertently dropped in the dirt.

1. There needs to be a manhattan project for Haiti. I know all sorts of aid
agencies are there but really. We are so rich in the west.

2. Did you mean
Marshall plan? That would make more sense.

Anyway, to really make a difference the source of their problems, their government, would need to be removed or seriously altered. I don't think there is any interest within america to get involved in another such venture.

3. Yes Marshall plan would be a better example. I just meant a plan with a goal that
if implemented with lots of $$$ and lots government backing. And is completed on a timeline.

Haiti?  Where voodoo is feared more than starvation?  That Haiti?

The only way to "save" Haiti is to find two pure hearts, one male and one female, gas everyone else and start over again.

Nuke Haiti eh.
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

DUmmy applegrove is definitely on to something here, but, after the fact, most people would call it genocide.

Those poor Haitians.

Can someone please help me out.  I thought there was a DU thread earlier that advocated testing voters before they were allowed to vote, the implication being that the DUmmies were soooo much smarter than everyone else, especially those mouth breathing repugs, then this brain dead moron wants to drop an atomic bomb on the people of Haiti.  Surely there can't even be confusion over there anymore about which side of the aisle houses all of the airheads?

Manhattan, Marshall same thing really.

So, when do we implement Manhattan Law?

"All you have to do is look straight and see the road, and when you see it, don't sit looking at it - walk!" -Ayn Rand

"Those that trust God with their safety must yet use proper means for their safety, otherwise they tempt Him, and do not trust Him.  God will provide, but so must we also." - Matthew Henry, Commentary on 2 Chronicles 32, from Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible
