to a MAGAt yesterday and got nowhere. I couldn't convince him with simple arithmetic that the GOP controlled Congress, the White House, and the Supreme Court so Democrats can't possibly be controlling his life circumstances. If second grade math can't break through the brainwashing, nothing can.

But you didn't know that a simple majority is NOT what is needed to pass the CRs that would keep the government open?

What really happened is that the "MAGAt" tried to explain that being in the majority is not the same as being in control. In the case of the Schumer Schutdown, it will take a 60-vote super-majority to bring the CR to a votes, a super-majority the Rs do not have. Pacifist Patriot refused to let facts complicate his/her talking point.
