Images rapidly circulated online Wednesday showing police escorting an elderly man away after the fatal shooting of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk — and many Utahns recognized him as occasionally ubiquitous activist George Zinn, 71.

Police said he was taken into custody on suspicion of obstruction of justice. Law enforcement said he did not match the description of the shooter. The FBI said it has a person in custody in connection with the shooting.

The Salt Lake Tribune’s attempts to reach Zinn were unsuccessful. An attorney who represented Zinn in a misdemeanor case earlier this year also did not respond to a request for comment.

George Zinn, who was considered the suspect has history of being a gadfly.

I'm sure more info will come, but it still looks like TR's assistance came from outside of his immediate acquaintances. TR is, currently, looking like a tool manipulated and aided by someone else. I'm nothing law-enforcement, but either his whole way of going about it was not very bright or "motivated" law enforcement people have made him look not very bright.

People whose life choices and styles are not approved as normal won't like people who criticize what they have made themselves. I get that, been hearing Tolerance Game rhetoric for several decades. He is reportedly again appalled and devastated by his boyfriend's actions, and as a young person, he has a long life ahead to reflect on his identity. He deserves kudos and support, not hostility. Charlie wanted to help people in the grip of this movement, not demonize them.

The FBI and police are justified in investigating Robinson's associates. There are hints that Robinson had online connections with radicals and may have been meeting with some to plan the assassination. Several trans activists posted about something bad happening to Charlie Kirk on September 10th. But we really don't know much beyond that.

The FBI’s no. 2 man said Monday that he suspects Charlie Kirk’s alleged killer Tyler Robinson could have been “aided and abetted’’ by an “extended network’’ — alluding to “multiple warning signs” he gave leading up to the assassination.

As The Post reported Sunday, law enforcement was already probing whether pro-trans online groups, sexualized animal-obsessed “furries” and others connected with Robinson had advance knowledge of his alleged murderous plans.

The groups include communities on the online gaming platform Steam, as well as Armed Queers SLC, which took down its Instagram page after Kirk was murdered.

Tyler Robinson did not act alone. He had help.

There have been vaguely mentioned hints that he did not act totally solo. Urged? Assisted in some way with "logistics"? Prior knowledge beyond fantasizing about a publicly announced appearance? The hints have been there pretty much from the start. One (very obvious) line of inquiry would be the whole shooting process, from when/how he learned to shoot and range-in a scoped rifle through his obtaining each part of his set-up (a Mauser bolt-action is not probably not rare, even in .30-06, but they probably are not cheap, the scope, the rounds he used ...), how he was able to get to his perch, how he got a long gun on campus, etc..

Unlike the LIEden FBI's "Missed him by that much" "investigation" of the Butler, PA assassination attempt, I think the FBI and locals have probably been/are diligently investigating these aspects.
