Divide and conquer. The string pullers, power brokers and professional politicians who care about nothing but their off shore bank accounts and impressive sounding titles have pushed the red vs blue tribalism for decades now cause people have fallen for it. There's plenty of issues logical liberals (they exist, they just aren't marching in the streets or spamming social media) and logical conservatives (we have some nutjobs too, even if some of those are planted agitators) can agree on, but we don't get anywhere because of this type of division getting ingrained deeper and deeper into the culture.
