Very sketchy tale which I completely do not believe. A proper business would have weighed decisions on a capital expenditure and the potential impacts of tariffs considering it isn't as though President Trump didn't telegraph his plans.
Assuming this bouncy is true, I'll bet $1000 that this DUmmy doesn't realize that the Big Beautiful Bill allows full expensing of the purchase rather than depreciating the expenses over its useful life. Yes, those are geeky accounting issues but VERY important when a business makes such decisions.
Additionally, if this machinery took a year to build in "Europe", your company could have paid up front and then you would not have to pay the tariff.
