Having had to "straighten out" an issue with the SSA during the LIEden MalAdministration, I can say from experience that long delays and inefficiency are defining characteristics of SSA bureaucrats.

If this sister actually exists and If she actually has a problem, she should write a polite non-political letter or email to the home office of her Congress-Critter. They probably have one or more staff people dedicated to such issues. That is what we have had to do three times, one each during OhBummer, Trump 1.0, and LIEden. Did any DU-member on the thread offer this practical advice? Or was the thread all Hate-Trumpery?

If the sister of Stargazer99 (3,209 posts) is as dumb as Stargazer99 (3,209 posts), which he/she/it probably is, then the problem is most likely that she misspelled her name on the application.

However, given that Stargazer99 (3,209 posts) sister if he/she/it really exists, probably wouldn't tell Stargazer99 (3,209 posts) about her miscommunication with SS knowing that Stargazer99 (3,209 posts) is a lunatic.

Judging from Stargazer99's post, it sounds like the problem (if real) has to do with how the sister's (if she exists) SS $$ is being auto-deposited. Perhaps changing banks, perhaps a less than well-handled bank merger, perhaps changing from one account to another in the same bank. If the sister (if she exists) ever had her identity stolen, SSA throws in extra hoops for processing changes, because of the obvious ongoing security concern (BTDTGTTS, one so far).
