I think that's what is so very shocking to those of us who have hearts and minds and any degree of compassion.

I was just having a discussion with a Trumper over the cuts to Medicaid and he was LITERALLY justifying having Trump's miliary parade over spending that money on children who will go hungry.

I don't give a rat's ass if a child is my color, another color, another race, another planet, another gender, another religion, whatever - I don't want ANYONE to have to go hungry or be sick in a country that has the resources to feed them and care for them.

THAT IS WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT.

2. Since hamsterjill does not mention the "Trumper" having pointed out that the proposed cuts are to administration, not benefits, either she screechingly ignored this truth or this was a fictional conversation.

3. The parade is to honor the 250th Anniversary of the US Army. It's "Trump's miliary parade" only in the sense that Kammie is not President (not that she would celebrate the founding of the US Army).

4. A. Since when has feeding children - in the US or in other countries - been the responsibility of the US government instead of the children's parents? B. Someone should explain the false choice fallacy to hamsterjill.

The actual word you should be using in this context, DUmp'Rat, might more accurately fall under "APATHY" or one of the various synonyms of the term. They hate Phil Robertson because he invalidates their constant messaging that those born into poverty have no choice but to turn to welfare or crime.  He grew up in a home with no electricity or indoor plumbing.  His family hunted and grew their own food.  He got into college on an athletic scholarship and earned a masters in education.  And after a few years working as a teacher, he turned an idea about a niche market into a multimillion-dollar business.  He literally experienced the "American Dream".  They hate that he proves that hard work can lead to success.  The fact that he was a Christian just makes them hate him more.
