Gas prices are set for their cheapest Memorial Day since 2021

The nearly 40 million Americans expected to hit the roads this Memorial Day weekend will have something to make them smile while sitting in traffic: cheap gas prices.

The national average price of a gallon of gasoline is expected to be $3.08 on Memorial Day, according to projections released Tuesday by fuel savings platform GasBuddy.

That would be the lowest gas price at the unofficial start of summer since 2021 and well below GasBuddy’s average of $3.58 last Memorial Day. It’s also sharply lower than 2022, when gas prices on Memorial Day stood at $4.60.

Let the liberals chew on that.  I keep seeing interviews with liberals talking about how the prices are skyrocketing and the DUmmies are simply orgasmic when they type that everything is more expensive ... yet, it's not true.

Good luck DUmmies!  It's all getting better.

I'm wondering if this is a case of multiple things being true at once.

Prices nationally ARE coming down, but are they doing the same in the leftist-run shitholes where many of the Dim'Rat idiots and their DUmp'Rat cousins live? I know of at least two 100,000+ bbl/day refineries in Commiefornia that are full on shutting down - one a Chevron facility in the greater LA basin area, the other a Tesoro facility in northern Commiefornia - and losing that much production has got to drive up the prices for the specialty blends that the Commiefornia enviro-whackos require.

Food for thought. It is good news about the Memorial Day prices nation wide, though. :cheers1: :hi5:

Yes they’re closing them down and that will increase their prices, but not as much as Newsom is. I read yesterday he is increasing the gas tax by 65¢/gallon. Already a done deal I think.

California regulations.  Phillips 66 and Chevron are pulling out.  Chevron is coming to Texas, they built a lot of stuff here over the last several years and they've been moving people over here preparing for this.  I don't know about P66.

Phillips in Carson CA  and Valero in Benicia CA are closing.  I heard Chevron is downsizing.  They are expecting gas to be $8 a gallon next year.  A strong platform for governor newscum to run for President on in 2028.

California as ridiculously high prices and gas is almost $5 a gallon.  Fortunately my truck burns E-85 which is going for $2.89 a gallon and with my driving habits I only see about a 3 MPG drop from regular gas.

On those two bolded points:

I don't think Chevron is downsizing, at all.  They've built quite a complex here in Texas and I just finished a major project for them in the last 2 years in a refinery they bought about 4 years ago.

I don't see gas hitting $8/gal anytime soon unless the states up their gas taxes considerably.  It might hit $8 in CA with Newsom doing what he's doing, but the rest of the country should see a decline in prices.  I know the plants are all ramping up right now and we have a tremendous amount of work kicking off an in the pipeline (no pun intended).

They shut down everything for a couple of months while the tariff scare was going on, but then all of them just seemed to open up and we've had a hell of a boom.

Out here in Galt's Gultch, we're just buttoning up at the close of a mid-sized turn around of our Alky, Catalytic Cracking and Vacuum Crude units. This maintenance cycle is supposed to carry us thru until about 2028, and the affected units are supposed to be "oil in" by end of today.

Just doing my part to bring back $2.00 a gallon gas... :cheers1:
