The car bombing outside a California fertility clinic that killed one person and injured four others appears to have been driven by anti-natalist ideology, according to two senior law enforcement officials briefed on the incident.

Anti-natalism refers to the belief that no one should have children. Investigators are focusing on social media posts made by the suspect, including a 30-minute audio recording, which they say support anti-natalist views. While the posts and the recording are still being verified, officials believe they reflect the ideology behind the bombing.

The same person may also be linked to an online forum post from earlier this month in which the individual contemplated suicide using an explosive device, the sources said. They are also investigating a YouTube account, under the same moniker, that features videos of experiments with homemade explosives.

The suspect, who has not been identified, was reportedly dealing with depression and had personal relationship issues. Authorities believe the suspect is a 25-year-old man from Twentynine Palms, three law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation told NBC News.

On Saturday, multiple law enforcement tactical officers were seen outside a Twentynine Palms residence, about an hour away from the targeted fertility clinic. The activity there was connected to the Palm Springs investigation, the sources confirmed to NBC News.

On an LA station’s FB thread about this there was all kinds of speculation about who to blame. There were a few saying it was Libs, but mostly claims the perp had to be MAGA and/or anti-abortion. Being the jerk I am, I pointed out that neither pro-aborts nor Pro-Life people strongly hate IVF, and we (at the time) knew pretty much nothing of the perp’s views. The Hate-Trumpers and pro-aborts went nuts, and at least a couple went ad hominem.

I enjoyed the schadenfreude of posting the NBC article about the perp’s actual views.

I've been a Democrat for decades and I'm on the left end of the Democratic spectrum -- I've never even heard of the damn term "anti-natalist" before. Maybe that's a thing among the Green Party/Horseshoe type of leftists, but it ain't among most sane liberals/progressives.

When I went there yesterday PM the browser tab was titled "f@#$" prolifers". He also expressed hatred toward those who believe the Bible. All on all, while I would not smear generic pro-abortion people or Libs/Progs with the guy, he DEFINITELY is not MAGA, Evangelical Christian. or Pro-Life, contrary to DU-grade Progs' wishes and fantasies.

Why would someone bomb an IVF clinic? In this case there are clear answer to that question. We don't have to guess because the bomber, identified as Guy Edward Bartkus, left behind a website explaining himself.

All a promortalist is saying is let's make it happen sooner rather than later (and preferably peaceful rather than some disease or accident), to prevent your future suffering, and, more importantly, the suffering your existence will cause to all the other sentient beings.

So what is the end goal?

The end goal is for the truth (Efilism) to win, and once it does, we can finally begin the process of sterilizing this planet of the disease of life. Life can only continue as long as people hold the delusional belief that it is not a zero sum game causing senseless torture, and messes it can never, or only partially, clean up. I think we need a war against pro-lifers. It is clear at this point that these people aren't only stupid, they simply do not care about the harm they are perpetuating by being willing agents for a DNA molecule. This should not be seen as tolerable to any intelligent and caring person. Don't be fooled by the ones who play stupid and pretend they don't understand these simple truths. It's just their way of playing with you and saying "**** you, we don't care"

You won't find "Efilism" in W'pedia, but it has some usage. "Efile" is just "Life" backwards (reversed). I guess it could be an application of nihilism, a denial that life has meaning and would best extincted. Hatred for Pro-Life people and for people who believe life has meaning and therefore is precious would flow naturally from from such a view of life.
