DUmmies: how does Trump need to stage a coup when he's already the freely elected President of the United States?

I'm a little surprised that this needs to be broken to liberals, but Trump was inaugurated two months ago. He is the 47th President of the United States.

The only people who can stage a coup would be someone who is NOT POTUS.

Now then, concerning the premise that Trump is now not popular with the military for some reason: the only people in the world who think the Signal debacle put American lives at risk have pink or blue hair and are otherwise concerned with destroying private vehicles and where gender-confused sad people are permitted to defecate. I am not a veteran, and I do not currently serve, but if I was on a boat in the Middle East and this came out, I suspect my reaction would be more like, "Fuuuuuuuuuuuck yes, real men are running the show in Washington and now it's time to GET SOME!"

But I probably wouldn't care, and I suspect most in the military don't care. The Houthis are easily dispatched and pose no threat. IRAN is only a little tougher. Moreover, the idea of taking the fight to Houthis, as opposed to the policy of the f*****ty Biden admin, was already well-known.

This nothing burger story is boring and I've tuned out.  This talk of "coups" is so profoundly stupid, though.  Do they even know what the word means?
