Republicans don't grasp what's about to hit them
...if Trump doesn't pull the plug on his world wide trade war really soon. Increasingly, it's looking like he won't, probably because he knows he won't get away with spinning it as a win if he does. Earlier, he might have pulled that off, at least in the eyes of his base. Behind the scenes he could have worked out some face saving gestures that Mexico, Canada, and Europe might have allowed him, some minuscule concessions on their parts, that Trump could have inflated beyond all rational bounds to claim "victory." Now however he's poured so much gasoline on the fire that other nations increasingly are defiant. None trust Trump at his word, it is worth nothing. Why make concessions for good will when no good will will be given in return? More likely, sensing weakness, Trump would just stab them in the back,

Trump has boxed himself in with these trade wars, the only thing he is wired to do is escalate. He is psychologically incapable of a full scale retreat. Increasingly I believe America's recent strong allies will comprehend that the best way to neuter Trump is to turn the American public strongly against him. To make that happen, Americans need to suffer real economic pain, that can be pinned directly on Trump. The trade wars that Trump launched will do just that. Of course the people of our until recent allies will suffer also, but Trump has stoked Anti-American feelings inside all of those nations. They won't blink first, it has become almost a real war and they know that Trump must first be humbled, and then destroyed. They will blame Trump as well, not their own governments.

The plummeting stock market has broken through and captured the American public's attention, but that is just the opening act. Trade war sticker shock has yet to take hold. Prices are about to rise sharply for goods and services across the board. When they do, those who brought it on, Trump, Musk, and their sycophants in Congress, will face widespread public rage, and all their ravings against transgenders in women's sports will fail to deflect it.

like he would be in prison soon, a joke who was no danger to America. We were cocky and overconfident and complacent at the same time. Who would ever vote for Trump except for the maga crowd. But we were so sure Harris would win while Musk was stealing the elections in the swing states which beyond the law of averages, Trump won all 7 of them.

Tariffs don't cost a thing unless one chooses to buy a product from one of the tariffed countries.

It isn't even worth explaining this shit to economic dunces. Such as this from Wednesday:

‘Come On, Jessica’: Fox Panelists Tear Into Dem Over Trump’s Tariffs, Say They’ll Benefit Americans

“The Five” Fox panelists Jesse Watters and Judge Jeanine Pirro stopped Democratic strategist Jessica Tarlov Tuesday evening and said that President Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canada will benefit Americans after Tarlov said they are “destroying” America.

Trump took to Truth Social Tuesday to announce a new wave of tariffs against Canada, doubling the previously announced 25% Canadian tariff on steel and aluminum, set to take effect Wednesday. On “The Five,” Tarlov argued against the tariffs, saying the Republican spending bill will add “$7 trillion to the deficit.”

“Even the strongest allies of the president don’t like these tariffs. They might think it’s possible to use them, smaller levels, 5%, 10%, but the tariff whiplash is destroying us. You look at the market tanking. I thought Peter Doocy had a great point earlier on today, our very own Peter Doocy, where he said, ‘They want federal workers to take the buyout,'” Tarlov said. “They want them to retire, but they’re sinking their retirement accounts.”

On Wednesday, as Tarlov said, an Associated Press reporter asked White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt if she had “ever paid a tariff” before.

“Then she went Trumpian. She goes, ‘I think it’s insulting that you’re trying to test my knowledge on economics.’ I’ll test your knowledge on economics, Jesse [Watters]. Are tariffs a tax on the American consumer?” Tarlov asked.

“If you have a tariff on a product, Jessica, what that does is it makes American workers richer because then you buy American,” Watters said. “You bring American plants back to this country. That’s the point, and every president has done it. It’s usually resulted in bringing jobs back.”

Watters listed tariffs from former presidents. He said those tariffs helped Americans.

“Did you know that Richard Nixon began the pickup truck industry in this country because of a tariff on the Europeans? Did you know that Reagan slapped tariffs on Japan and ended up triggering a semiconductor renaissance in this country?” Watters asked.

“He is protecting American industries,” Pirro jumped in. “Why do we rely on Canada for energy anyway? That’s part of the problem. We need to bring the manufacturing into this country, and countries are buckling. Big corporations are buckling. They’re talking about coming here because they don’t want to be taxed.”

Trump’s pushback against Canada began in February after he signed an executive order to implement a 25% additional tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico and a 10% additional tariff on imports from China, to hold them “accountable for their promises to halt illegal immigration and stop poisonous fentanyl and other drugs.” However, both Mexico’s and Canada’s leaders folded just days after saying they would help secure their borders, triggering a halt on their tariffs for a month.

On March 3 Trump said there was “no room left” for further negotiations or delays on tariffs against Mexico, Canada, or China, continuing to cite how they’ve handled immigration and fentanyl.

“This is going to benefit the American worker, American manufacturing and domestic production. It’s going to preserve jobs. So stop with the tariffs. It’s the leverage that we need to protect,” Pirro said.

Tarlov could be seen jumping in, saying Trump “needs to stop with the tariffs,” to which Pirro responded, “No, no, no, no. I’m glad he did what he did with Canada.” Tarlov continued to press the Fox panelists, saying the only reason she was OK with Trump’s pushback on Canada was because she has “enough money to survive it.”

“That’s not the point! Look, it’s going to float all boats. Come on, Jessica,” Pirro said. “The truth is that this is something that’s going to benefit all Americans when we’ve got more jobs here, and we’ve got all kinds of foreign money coming into this country. We saw it in the press conferences, a half a trillion dollars like one day. They can’t wait to come here.”

Tom Rinaldo needs to delete Occupoo Democrats (yes, they still exist, +/- sort of) and should abstain from Bluesky as a Lenten fast.

I don't think the data exists to do a full search of the Bush-era DUmp, but for years they were ALL ABOUT Buy American, tariffs, and of course propping up small business. They were as isolationist and protectionist THEN as they think Trump is NOW.

Yes, lurking DUmmies, it is absolutely true, and I could give a frick if you don't believe me. Many DUmp threads from 2005/6 or so would look absolutely "Maga" now.

Regarding tariffs, apparently the Left is, as always, too ****ing stupid to see what's actually going on. They're a tactic to bring trading partners to the table, and a tactic to force manufacturers to use American resources to produce.

Employed Americans, especially in blue collar industries, USED to be a liberal value as recently as 20 years ago. It is AMAZING what's happened since even then. Liberals use to HOWL against NAFTA and other internationalist trade strategies. Now they want nothing more than to keep hobbling American economic might.

Why, you ask? So instead of creating young Americans, strong of will, body, and mind, who are gainfully employed, we can have effete, celebrity-obsessed weirdos with pink hair who spend all day making fools of themselves on tiktok. **** THAT SHIT.

The entirety of all of the DUmbass DUchebag's economic knowledge could be contained in a Monopoly thimble. In all my years of watching the DUmp monkeys I have yet to see a single economic prognostication of theirs come true in the real world.

Dump monkeys = (Krugman * Cramer)^3 on accuracy of the future.

Oh to any lurking DUchebag DUmmys, did you hear about the inflation numbers coming down or the price of eggs dropping 30%? That was the DUmb thinking the DUmp had to take President Trump down just last week.

On edit at 1:00 PST
Dow UP 675 165%
S&P UP 117 2.13%
NASDAQ UP 451 2.61%

The DUmp is the best "all things" reverse barometer ever!

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
