I rarely, if ever, buy anything from amazon.com.

I just found this on my credit card statement:

I was able to verify with Amazon that this was a fraudulent charge.

We all know who is in charge at this dump.

Keep your eyes open for this sort of activity.

They tried to slip over $140.00+ from me from something I would never opt to enroll in,

I got up to check my bank accounts as my dividend was due yesterday.

It was there alright and I saw the other charge from amazon.com and my bank has a 24/7 phone number to call if you become aware of fraudulent activity.

The credit card is now closed.

The only thing I have on auto pay is my power bill and my internet server luckily.

I briefly HAD a T-mobile phone that did not work. I had to hassle with them a lot to get my money back but I did. Stay the the hell away from them too. They are hooked up with Starlink last I heard.

I had three VISA cards up until recently. I now just have the one that is now closed.

Less is better in this environment we are in!

     What actually happened is that this asshole was on Prime, thought about canceling it, was too lazy/drunk/high to ever get around to it, so they got hit with an annual charge.

      And they're probably still on Prime anyway.

In the real world, some retail or restaurant or ??? worker probably got CountAllVotes' Visa/MC/Discover card info when CountAllVotes made a purchase. Or maybe there was a card skimmer at the local store, gas station, etc.. Or maybe SO got ahold of the card ...

BTW, Amazon Prime costs $139 per year, not "$140.00+". So this may be a fictional troll.

     Back in the old days of the DUmp, Amazon was small potatoes compared to the handwringing they did over Borders. They used to rail on endlessly about how Borders was killing all the lesbian coop bookstores and all that. Then they started to use Amazon, and there was debate about THAT. When they realized that Amazon was PERFECT for their shut-in lives, they embraced it completely and left mom and pop stores to rot.

     Now they CLAIM they don't want Amazon anymore, but I can assure you that they order it every single day.

1) When speaking to someone uninvolved in the transaction (the other DUmp'Rats in the day room qualify here) I typically don't give the exact figure of the charge. I round the figure to something the person can grasp easily, in other words. I suspect that's what the DUmp'Rat was doing here.

2) Amazon typically has to charge state sales tax on damned near everything, including their annual membership fees. That alone punts the $139 fee into the "$140+" range.
