Monday's inauguration is getting better by the minute!!!
Because of brutally cold weather and high wind, the inauguration has been moved INSIDE -- into the Capitol Rotunda.

Video feed into the Capital Centre, which is a huge multi-use coliseum a couple of miles away from the Capitol.

Which means:
-- small crowd in the Rotunda
-- small crowd behind the fences and barricades around the Capitol
-- Cap Centre may be half-full
-- MAGAts roaming the streets of DC

MAGAts will be pissed off beyond belief. Given the fact that the MAGAt crowd is likely to have a preponderance of Jan 6 wannabees, and that the Captiol and DC Police along with MD, VA, and DC National Guard are on alert and will be present . . . .

I'm hoping the cops have been issued automatic rifles. Much more effective than pistols. If we get lucky, there could be a lot of Ashley Babbits!!! Get off to a good start!!!

Better for security. Less chance of a rando disruptor. Attendees reasonably comfortable. Weather won't affect TV coverage. Fox News' coverage might get a ratings boost from people who otherwise would have been at the ceremony live. No mockable Bundled-Bernie-equivalent pix.

DU-folk actually should be POed at the ceremony having been moved indoors.

You give them more credit than I would. They've been operating out of the same playback since at least 1960. We the People were fortunate that Rush Linbaugh spent so much of his career lining out the correlations every time they fell back to the same play and calling it a different name in hopes of fooling their opposition.

It would take a full, collective rectal craniotomy for them to realize that we're on to the play, we're tired of it, and we're going to slap them down every time they go back to the same old play going forward. Dim'Rats and the rest of the UniParty are such creatures of habit at this point, that I don't foresee them "getting it" for at least 20 years; probably more. I don't intend to let our sides rest on our laurels in that time, but it's going to take them at least that long to have the collective epiphany that the playbook doesn't work anymore,  before they'll get to the considerable effort of building a new playbook.

* Kammie lost and made a fool of herself and her supporters;

* Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao got booted from office and indicted for corruption;

* LA Mayor Karen Bass ... besides the incendiary obvious, she has a recall petition in circulation, and the timing of her trip to Ghana proved unfortunate wrt "optics";

* SF Mayor London Breed over-promised and under-delivered wrt cleaning up SF;

* Schifftyroo won't go in for what would probably be a demotion (from Senator);

* Swillwell probably lacks name recognition, and with the Rs in the majority in the House, he probably won't have much opportunity to improve that.

As to the US 2028 Presidential election, the Dem's stable is either glue-factory-ready ancient nags, younger figures lacking name recognition, and younger figures with very negative name recognition (e.g. AOC or the former-SecTrans Pete).
